There is a problem with this video near the 2 minute mark... Not only did Joseph Smith Jr get hired on by Stowell/Stoal, but so did his father, Smith Sr. Why is that being left out? Both names are on the contract, both were being paid.

Wonderful presentation. FYI: After the standing book press you show the lying press. This was not for cutting off the edges. This was to saw 5 notches in the very edge. This was to create small holes in which to stitch the pages together. The pages were cut with a plane a plow AFTER they were sewn together.

I have to hand it to the LDS church, you sure know how to play the victim card. The reason he was tarred and feathered was because he was screwing around with the little girls. What you failed to mention is that there was a doctor there to castrate him. I can't remember why that didn't happen. If it had happened, everyone would have been a lot better off. Smith went on lying and screwing other men's wives and young girls. He caused problems everywhere he went. Now, look where the corporation is. Making billions of dollars a year and still guilt tripping people into drinking their Kool-Aid. Thank goodness for COVID, for the first time in Mormon history, families actually stayed home and took care of each other. They spent hundreds of hours on the internet finding out the real history of Mormonism. Thank you Jesus! Get these people out of this horrible cult!

Joseph Smith would hide money and steal tools and livestock to get his dupes to believe in his "finding hidden treasures." His adventure with Stowell wasn't yet finished, and his son (nephew?) Horace saw that Smith would bankrupt his gullible father and filed charges on Smith. The author claims "acquitted" but Smith was required to pay court cost - meaning he had lost the case. An off-record agreement was likely made where Smith was to leave the jurisdiction in exchange for a guilty verdict. Josiah Stowell represents a man who wants to be deceived in his quest for greater riches, as the men narrating and appearing in this film.

Not necessarily. We consider all the lds apostles as prophets too. That includes one latino apostle now and an Asian apostle too. Sorry it took a while. We are still at a much faster rate of all embracing culturalism and acceptance than other entity's like ironically catholicism. I was roman catholic myself. 👋 I say ironically because catholic is supposed to mean all encompassing or all including. But if the catholic church was really around for 2000 years or so, it was very white washed that whole time. All the popes, except just one black pope apparently, all white till barely now. The statues, art, relics, images, depictions of angels, all white

Joseph Knight Sr. was coerced and shamed into being baptized, with threats of going to hell if he did not. Joseph Smith Jr. is a documented liar who also STOLE Joseph Knight Sr.'s wagon when hunting the golden plates The plates are total trash BS. I do not think there is any way that Joseph Knight Sr. would have gone along for the ride if he knew that Joseph Smith Jr. was hurting children such as the teenage wives and wives of other men; who all were also coerced and shamed. Shame on Joseph Smith Jr. And shame on Joseph Knight Sr. for going along with it. Shame on all you commenting here without being honest.

This is mostly a very nice video with deep insights into Joseph Smith and Josiah Stowell. However, at the 12:22 mark, Anthony Sweat's painting of Joseph looking into a hat is blasphemous. Please redo the video and delete this scene. Joseph and Oliver always said that the translation was done with the Urim and Thummim--a device given to the brother of Jared and handed down through the generations to Moroni and Joseph Smith. At the 7:47 mark, a sign is displayed stating, "Joseph Smith in 1827 dug for and claimed to find some of the plates for the Mormon Bible 1/2 mile up this creek." This sign is in the Afton, New York Barn Museum. I called the Afton Historical Society at 607-693-1408. The lady said that this sign was located between Afton and Ninevah, NY (5 miles downstream on either highway 7 or 26) by a creek that drained into the Susquehanna River. It was removed because the sign was grossly incorrect. The plates were located in the hill Cumorah near Palmyra, NY over 100 miles northwest of Nineveh as the crow flies. How many other events and facts have historians gotten wrong?

"Anthony Sweat's painting of Joseph looking into a hat is blasphemous. " .... You do know the Church does NOT deny this, just wishes NOT to discuss it openly. Go check FAIR's website on the issue... FAIR who ARE the LDS Church's PAID apologetic department. The ONLY issues here IS the white washing of the truth on Smith's trial. The Church knows Smith's CRAPPY past and cringes over it.

@@atheistapostate7019 D&C 135:3 states, "3 Joseph Smith, the aProphet and bSeer of the Lord, has done more, csave Jesus only, for the salvation of men in this world, than any other man that ever lived in it. In the short space of twenty years, he has brought forth the Book of Mormon, which he translated by the gift and power of God, and has been the means of publishing it on two continents; has sent the dfulness of the everlasting gospel, which it contained, to the four quarters of the earth; has brought forth the revelations and commandments which compose this book of Doctrine and Covenants, and many other wise documents and instructions for the benefit of the children of men; gathered many thousands of the Latter-day Saints, founded a great city, and left a fame and name that cannot be slain. He lived great, and he died great in the eyes of God and his people; and like most of the Lord’s anointed in ancient times, has sealed his mission and his works with his own eblood; and so has his brother Hyrum. Thank you to Lloyd D Newell, Craig Ostler, Susan Easton Black, and others!!! This was very well done and very illuminating! I was raised in the suburbs of Philadelphia, not too far from where this all happened! But I knew nothing of it at all when I lived back there! I didn’t join the church until I was 45 in the suburbs of Anchorage, Alaska! That’s where members of the church and the missionaries from our church found me! To all those people I am extremely indebted! And our two sons both ended up going on missions! This is the true church… That has all the truth! Other churches have truths in them, but not all the truths!! I love Heavenly Father & Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost!! I testify of them and their love for me and everyone else on this earth, and those that have already passed on! I testify of the truthfulness of the gospel and the Bible and the Book of Mormon!

My grandparents used to have a neighbor and his wife who always made me think of this house. They only came out at night, like the Johnsons. They had a pile of garbage (including a refrigerator that never worked) on their front porch, and when the town got after them for it being a health hazard their answer was to hang blinds off the gutter so no one could see it. Brilliant solution. I used to tell people "They probably sleep in that refrigerator during the day."

Martin Harris is this all too often remembered for losing the 116 pages of Book of Mormon manuscript. We must look at his entire life. He was a man of great faith and found great favor with the Lord and his prophet. He sacrificed his farm, home, marriage and family for the cause. He was excommunicated but was rebaptized four years before his death. He repented of his mistakes as should all of us. I find no fault with this man.

I KNOW he is a Prophet of our Father in Heaven. Growing up I learned this, and thought the whole world knew it and believed it. It didn’t occur to me that I had to believe because it was just a given fact. I didn’t know there were other people who thought him to not be a real prophet. But O am thankful I had that assuredly . What a blessing.
