You got those “harsh” decals from Red Phoenix. I know because I bought the same ones! Where did you get the other Aztec decals then? I’d like to buy them. I just got the decals from Lake Monster Details. The instructions say to apply a thin coat of lacquer - does that mean using a spray and can I use a gloss clear enamel?

The lighter grey saucer aztecs also came from Red Phoenix; though the company was called another name then. I use the same brand of Clear Spray (Tamiya) as the base colour to make sure there are no problems. I did the same thing for my 677 scale USS Voyager: Krylon Clear on top of the Krylon Chrome.

@@SeansModelBuilds Round 2 should have upgraded the original stand on it instead of using the dome and the rod. That is actually a really nice stand that comes with the original kit.

@@SeansModelBuilds Depending on where the hole is for the stand on the R2 release you could probably use the original stand along with a tube for wiring you could probably do a basic wiring kit with power jack and switch in that stand.

Sean if you check out my comparison video I did on the Fiber optics Enterprise D kit and the Translucent kit it will solve the mystery of the posts in the engineering hull and saucer. People have been wondering for years what the posts were in the clear kit. Both the clear edition and Translucent kits were based off of the AMT Fiber optics Enterprise kit.

My favorite is the 350 Scale Refit Enterprise. My rarest is probably the 537 Scale Smoothy Refit or the 1978 Space Shuttle Enterprise.
