Hello @kimashton2053 👋👋 Thank you so much for your kind words about the artwork and the story. I appreciate you taking the time to point out the incorrect pronunciation of Te Reo. As someone who isn't a native speaker and not particularly skilled with languages, I rely on the feedback from knowledgeable viewers like you to improve the accuracy of my content. I hate to burst your bubble but the reason why they knew about Sirius B is a white dwarf used to be a red giant. Dee du dee😮
@MythMinimusАй бұрын
Thank you for your input! You are correct that Sirius B is a white dwarf, which evolved from a red giant. The fascinating part is how the Dogon tribe, with their ancient traditions, had detailed knowledge of Sirius B without access to modern telescopes. To provide more context, the process of a star like Sirius B evolving into a white dwarf involves several stages and occurs over billions of years. Sirius B, which started as a main-sequence star, expanded into a red giant after exhausting the hydrogen in its core. This red giant phase lasted around 1 billion years. Eventually, the star shed its outer layers, leaving behind the hot, dense core we now see as a white dwarf. Astronomers estimate that Sirius B became a white dwarf approximately 120 million years ago. Therefore, the Dogon would not have witnessed this transformation in recent history. The intriguing aspect is how the Dogon tribe knew about this white dwarf and its properties, passed down through generations. Their knowledge remains a compelling subject for researchers, highlighting the intricate astronomical understanding ancient civilizations could possess. As a reminder, this is a mythology channel, and while we share these fascinating stories, they should not necessarily be taken literally. However, we respect all interpretations, whether literal or metaphorical, and encourage open discourse and conversation about these topics. Your thoughts and insights are always welcome! @MythMinimus I confess I was busy when I saw this video and didn't give you the attention you obviously deserved. I appreciate your kindness to me and your open mindedness. The 120 million years is deceptive all we can for sure is it's been a white dwarf for at least 5k years. If word of mouth for 10k years is all it is, that's amazing in itself. Your recognition of the complexity and nuances in these topics is greatly appreciated. The transformation of Sirius B into a white dwarf about 120 million years ago is indeed fascinating. We value all the knowledge and opinions shared by our community members. It's through such discussions that we can explore different interpretations and gain a fuller understanding of our past. In the middle of the lake is an island.the snakes all stop at the water's edge.suddenly a huge shimmering rainbow coloured serpent appeared. scales shining with shimmering light.almost looking like gold in all together.The serpent coiled upwards in the middle of the island.Standing up presenting itself. All snakes rose up ,and opened their hoods and bowed. Being a witness to this event.The feeling is unexplainable.pure bliss and enlightenment.

Hey SJ. Thank you for your comment, you bring up a valid question about the origins of the "Gods" in our ancestors stories. Are they of this earth or something more? Hi @bernardmolloy6241 Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts! It’s incredible to dive into the deep history of Irish mythology and the different groups that played a part in it. The Fomorians are often seen as the ancient stone age people of Ireland, representing the raw, untamed forces of nature. Their stories are some of the oldest in Irish lore and they really capture the wild spirit of the land. The Nemedians, who arrived around 2500 BCE, brought significant cultural changes with them. They’re believed to have come from the Pontic Steppe, introducing the Proto-Indo-European language to Ireland. It’s amazing to think about how these early migrations shaped the cultural and linguistic landscape of the region. Then we have the Fir Bolg, arriving around 2000 BCE from Southern Europe. They brought the Proto-Italo-Celtic language, adding yet another layer to Ireland’s rich history. Each wave of people added their own unique touch to the evolving story of Ireland. Your insights really help to highlight the complexity and richness of Irish mythology and history. Thanks for contributing to the conversation and sharing your knowledge! we hope you have an amazing day ❤️❤️

Thanks for your question. The Rainbow Serpent is a fascinating myth that appears in many Aboriginal cultures across Australia. Different tribes have their own unique takes on the story. Here are some of the tribes and regions where this myth is particularly important: - Yolngu People (Northern Territory): They call it Ngalyod or Julunggul. - Gagadju People (Kakadu National Park): Known as Almudj. - Warlpiri People (Central Australia): Referred to as Wititj. - Bundjalung People (New South Wales): They know it as Wonnarua. - Noongar People (Southwest Australia): Called Wagyl or Waagal. - Arrernte People (Central Australia). - Luritja People (Central Australia). - Tiwi People (Tiwi Islands). - Wiradjuri People (New South Wales). - Kamilaroi People (New South Wales). My narrative is influenced by stories from the Warlpiri and Yolngu. These tribes have such rich and diverse traditions that highlight the importance of the Rainbow Serpent in their cultures. I really aim to honor these stories by sharing them in a way that captures their original essence and cultural richness. Myths* AND EVERYTHING ELSE, that we could term 'data' Including sensory And rational-conceptual Starts to make sense if AND ONLY IF It is it is looked at metaphorically AND metaphysically Because the 'physycal' is a metaphor for the 'metaphysical'. It sounds like you're saying that all kinds of data, whether it comes from our senses or our logical thinking, only really make sense when we look at them metaphorically and metaphysically. I find it fascinating to think of the physical world as a metaphor for something deeper.I also love your point about myths, paradoxes, and intuition being our closest way to real knowledge. It feels like you're suggesting that to truly understand the world, we need to go beyond just the literal and physical. How do you think we can apply this way of thinking in our everyday lives?

I had never heard of this before, I'm not too keen on Irish mythology either. After a little research I found the Annals of the Four Masters, listing the reigns of those mentioned in the lore. Most are in the height of the Bronze Age (1800-1300 BCE). This period is also when most of the world is calling the native Greeks "Danaan." Today we call them Mycenaeans, but they were certainly sea-faring and may have reached "Britannia.". I also realize this word, Danaan, has an Irish/Gaelic meaning as well.

The Enuma Elish, also known as the Babylonian creation myth, is one of the oldest creation narratives in the world. It dates back to the 18th century BCE and is written on seven clay tablets. The story primarily describes the creation of the world and the gods' battles, particularly focusing on the god Marduk. For a detailed scholarly source, you can refer to: Dalley, Stephanie. "Myths from Mesopotamia: Creation, the Flood, Gilgamesh, and Others." Oxford University Press, 1989. @@My_goverment_wont_fix_roads I agree with you on the possibility of there being pre-civilization that were far more advanced than we are prepared to acknowledge. I will eventually cover stories that have been hypothesised about our ancient past as I feel like the information could be classed as mythology. Stay tuned for more tales and legends ❤️❤️

Billy Carson is one of my main inspirations, I love the information he has, The Randall Carlson episode on JRE reignited my love for ancient mythology. Thank you for the recommendations. I hope to see you around on the channel ❤️❤️
