Great video! How is this leg position different from canter aids? With the inside leg at girth and outside leg behind the girth? Wouldn’t that trigger a canter transition? Thank you for your videos and help!

Thanks I forgot about this practice! How many days a week would you recommend riding in arena? And for how long of a session?

My OTTB has the exact moves with flying out of control suddenly. I froze the video to see the horse and riders reaction, and now don't feel so bad about myself or my horse. It's obviously a OTTB thing

Great video! Really helpful, especially understanding the footfalls and timing for transitions. I joined the boot camp too, can't wait to be part of it.

I noticed her arms are straight out with no movement with the horses neck. I have an instructor who says this is too stiff and need to go with horses movement. Which is correct .

I just started riding again after a long break. I ride a beginner horse who’s super lazy. Ny trainer keeps telling me to constantly apply pressure with my calves when we walk in order to make him extend his front legs. He tells me to constantly use my legs to make the horse move and not slow down. The whole class I have to use my legs to make the horse move. Otherwise it just slows down a lot. From your video I see that this is wrong but what am I to do? The trainer keeps telling me to keep doing it and this horse is known as super lazy. It doesn’t move otherwise. Help 😅

Oh gosh this is helpful. Trot-canter transitions are the biggest thing I struggle with right now, and your calm and clear explanation (with video demonstration!) is so, so reassuring. It's like having another instructor at my fingertips 💚💜 thank you! 🥰

When you let him come back to the walk, are you asking for the walk or just letting him decide?
