Adelina had a few great highlight moments in her career and this was the first one. To be senior national champion at the tender age of 12 will never be done again. Incredible.

I absolutely loved this. It's hard to believe she won senior Russian Nationals at the age of 12 and then junior Russian Nationals at the age of 14. Amazing start to her career for Adelina.

Adelina was 12 years old here!

Adelina won her national championship against adults when she was only 12 years old! She won the junior World Championship two years later when she was 14. And she won Olympic gold at 17. Then the injuries hit. She was never really consistent but when she was on she was very on.

Wow she is my second favorite performer of swan lake, she is so good that she should have waited to present this at Sochi and the act she chose was so beautiful and original, I also loved her exhibition program for 2011 with starting trumpets. She great plucking the acts of swan lake.

You are not correct. You can see here that Adelina has better method of execution with her skating than the other skater. The other skater might have good jumps but her spirals are nowhere as good as Adelina's.

I can't believe she was just 12. She is amazing. I hope she doesn't get injured because she has something incredibly special. Such technique, such extension, such good lines, and so much expression! And she's so fast. Gold at Sochi?

Yes, and no. The definitions of "senior" differ for: (1) local/national competitions; (2) ISU competitions; and (3) the Olympics. Mao Asada has been competing in Japanese (senior) Nationals since she was 12 or so, and began skated in senior ISU events a couple of seasons later in the 2005-6 season, when she was 14 (at the time stipulated) and was thus too young to compete in Torino in 2006.

I do not believe so. I think they just waves off the age requirements. It is the same thing they did in gymnastics where a 14 y.o. won the national title.

It will be interesting to see Elizaveta, Polina, & Adelina compete in the Junior circuit and see how they do. 2014 Olys will be very interesting.
