Thanks for the disassembly details. I knew the boot pulled up but had I pulled the switch plate and not removed the t20 screws, I’d have been an unhappy camper. 👍🏻

Thanks mate. You just saved me a couple of hundred dollars in doing it myself rather than taking the car into VW. At $350 to replace a $100 part in ten minutes, it shows you don’t need a gun to rob people!

Great video thanks. I replaced mine a few years back at a dealer cost €195 installed by VW (AND they wanted to charge me for diagnostics in case not the button which I refused). I needed another so maybe last time they just cleaned the terminals with alcohol rubbing solution? Anyway I bought the genuine item from VW costing €70 and installed it today myself! thanks to you for your video. Noticed my new VW part had interlinked OOOO printed on it so seems Audi and VW share parts

@georgevidas82566 ай бұрын
There are 2 small clips holding the button housing but they come off with firm pressure from underneath when you remove it from the console. The new button has clips provided. Place a cloth under the button assembly to catch any parts which might fall into the console

Thanks for posting, having trouble with my 2019 Tiguan, took it to my local VW dealer to fix under warranty, they said 10 days for the part to arrive thats over a month ago now and now they say they dont have a clue when it will arrive, ordered one myself off ebay for £11, arrived today fitted in less than 10 mins, about the same time it took me to start the car at work today, my garage wanted to charge VW warranty £188 for doing the same.

There are many different part numbers for the same starter button. Call a vw genuine parts supplier. They have a database with every VIN sold in your country and the parts list for your car.

Hi may I ask how you can remove the old sun visor off?
@georgevidas8256 Жыл бұрын
Use the method with two small screw drivers to release one clip and apply a little force to stop the clip from snapping back in then do the same with the second clip. The video shows how to release the clip with a screwdriver. After you remove the bracket carefully pull the wire out of the headlines and unplug it. Hope this helps

Hello, How do you go about disconnecting the wire? and plugging the new visor in?
@georgevidas8256 Жыл бұрын
Hi. The wire and plug pass along the roof lining and need to be pulled gently towards the opening. The glue will come away from the foam roof liner backing to eventually reveal the plug and socket. Once you plug in the new wire use a small screwdriver to push the plug and wire back close to their original position. No need to use glue.
