Interesting response. I still find a statement that "there is no good people" to be a weak absolutism that falls into the fallacy of futility. Given that, torturing people doesn't seem like a way to create goodness on earth or with/towards god.

These are the same christians Maynard is angry with. They want to "judge" Judith to make sense of her illness. As if Christians do not suffer illness and pain which is grade A bullsh*t. No one but god knows Judith's heart. I understand people looked at Job (from the bible) and may have thought Job had astrayed from the will of God. You christians have to really understand the god you serve. The bible talks many times about rewards in heaven... and christians who suffer.

Just to clarify, this is about a neighbor who did this to Jonathan. He explained it later down the lines.

I am a Sabbath fan since 71, became an Atheist in 77. Why? Purely because I saw the toxic interconnection with religion and politics. The religious drove the dynamic. The religious created the wars. Religion has a wonderful way of doing this. Most if not all the pigs referred to in War pigs, are religious. This song refers to them. Fighting wars using people as fodder.

I philosophically and theologically disagree with 99.99999% that these guys say but I commend them cause they open a discussion, no dogma, just discourse...good job, great job actually

The only thing I could find coming straight from James Hetfield about the song. It was a live performance and he said this goes out to Jim and Tammy Baker. hahaha kzfaq.info/get/bejne/nK-DedBnyqnZZGQ.htmlsi=tI0YUKvv4bDLc-er

There is a reason that's a constant topic. Was raised pentecostal and never saw a tiny bit of "god's" work in anyone's life. I only saw our religion take advantage of emotionally/physically compromised individuals. The bible constantly touts miracles and good works but I've never once seen that occur unless there was human intervention. Bet this comment goes to the bottom. The only good thing that comes from religion is a mild sense of misled purpose. However, "Do unto others" is still a good motto.

From everything I heard about Mitch he was a really nice guy and the accident was a cause of a bad fight with his girl, alcohol and bad timing, he was drunk, pissed and went on a motorcycle ride, then stuff happened. Truly sad, an Icon for many, many modern vocalist wouldnt be here without Mitch Lucker. RIP Mitch, thanks for everything you did for music, and people, hope your family is fine and your daughter is proud of what an amazing dad he had.

Metal music and Slipknot are far from satanic or anti-religious. If anything, they are largely about truth, catabasis, reflection, finding courage and growth.

Just come across your videos. I'm a huge Tool fan and I can appreciate your openness to listening to this particular band considering you are a Pastor. I wanted to comment on your comment about what you said about the wings part... Maynard is an intelligent and articulate individual. He uses a lot of metaphors in his lyrics. I'm only using the wings as an example here..... its not that he doesn't understand or has a misconception of gaining wings when you die. It's just the simple fact that the idea is relatable and he's getting his point across to whoever listens. Again..... great videos! I look forward to watching more! I, myself, am a believer. I just dont believe in religion.

Now that's an actual lyrics analysis, actually doing justice the song, unlike what you did with Pisces by Jinjer. Still a bit on a stereotypically religiously shallow side though.
