what makes this even more funnier is that the doctor and his companions are the only people who act naturally to the monsters while everyone else seems to just walk around like nothing is happening. or it's secretly a psychological horror short.

I was at Aintree for the filming of this item; this is only a fraction of the footage that was taken. I'd love to see the rest! Damon was so competent driving the Lotus 25 around the Aintree Club Circuit for lap after lap whilst the camera crew changed filming locations around the venue. And of course, the car sounded absolutely wonderful. Damon never raced a car at Aintree, but he did race motorcycles there in his very early career. On the day of filming, he initially drove 3 laps to warm up the car and remind himself where the circuit went. After the three laps I asked him what he thought of the place and he asked me if the Grand National horse jumps had been right next to the track when his father raced there. I confirmed they were indeed there but slightly closer to the track back then. He went out to do more laps and 15 or so later came back in. I asked him about the jumps...... "What jumps?" he replied with a smile! "They disappear when you are having fun!!" You'll notice at 3:13 he looks to the left at one of the jumps just as he's entering Becher's Bend, and he's not hanging about. What a driver, and such a nice chap. I came away at the end of that day having had my life enriched after being in his company. Thanks Damon, thanks Sky TV.... Now Sky, where's the rest of the footage? I once saw him at the Ware Carnival in Hertfordshire in 1981. I was on a coach destined for Cambridge, and we had to stop and pull over to let the procession through. Jon was leading the cavelcade, in his Worzel Gummidge attire! He even did a couple of somersaults!! 😂😂😂😂😂

It bit be just a one-off special for charity - but it feels like old school Dr. Who. I suppose that is what matters the most.

Not one single word of dialogue connects with any other single line of dialogue anywhere in this berserk horror show... and as far as that idiot JNT was concerned this was every bit as canonical an episode of Doctor Who as Logopolis or The Caves of Androzani. Those flying heads of Hartnell and Troughton were pathetically tasteless too.

30 years on this is a goofy parody with so much fanservice crammed in the actual plot is like lol whatever, and as a long time fan its nice to see so many beloved faces, Nyssa, Leela, Susan, Liz, and my gods was that Mike Yates driving Bessie, this entire short is just a precursor to Power of the Doctor, wishy washy plot with returning character's for an anniversary special which is somewhat silly. But at the time in 1993 yeah this was the fìnal nail in the coffin for classic who ever coming back, a parody that cemented the fact that the show was seen as a joke, written by a man who let the show slip into cancellation and should have left long before it happened, a sad end to a beloved icon of British television, that wouldnt get a serious return to tv until 2005. Also Jon Pertwee roasting Noel was absolutely fantastic and predicted him still being on tv in 2010 still doing Deal or No Deal
