The DG silencers are horrible for performance, I raced a rode a 82 RM465 from 2009-2013- once I replaced the DG silencer with a stock length aftermarket- wow what a difference in mid-top end!

I had a Yamaha IT 465 and theres no way on earth i could use my hand to turn the engine over. If it backfired it could break your leg.I’m thinking your ideal compression is around 140-160 psi…Also a great technique i learned on starting big bore bikes…..and any two stroke bikes in fact…..turn on the gas and choke….lean the bike over till the fuel comes out if the overflow… stand the bike back up, kick slowly to compression just past top dead centre or until the compression stroke eases slightly…and THEN, give it the beans…..it always seems to work and looks pretty cool too. Good luck 🤞🏼🏁

Rare and cool.i remember back in the day every one was on a yz or the new cr 480 back in those early early 80s..which makes that 465 .rare and cool

I'm not criticizing your video bro, but you gotta look at. The fact that in many cases, most of the things that 4 engineers came up with was to make it better so so please stop criticizing everything that you see has a change for the worst. Because you don't really kfor you and for anyone that's watching that could be it. A change for the worst? What I've seen so far. It looks like they're trying to make it more efficient, so so let them show you what they have done and then make the corrections that you see, that need to be changed. That's how essenger has made. Its money is by making things different and making them better performance minded. What you're showing is doing nothing but criticizing. Everything that has been done to make those engines better. What a world of difference between me, old 2.3 Lima and a new 2.3 Lima with a dual spark plugs per cylinder that made a world of difference in that engine, so you should be looking towards what? Else can they do, but we see it today. A 2.3 l is based off of 350 horsepower plus So please stop criticizing me engine. Start looking for the good things about it. Because obviously it's a good engine because it's been used in trip. Le track racing for the last 40 years. It's not a dumb dumb engine.You just have to be smarter than it

For a lot less fuss could have just bought a hogged out factory upper and knife edged lower EFI manifold from a couple web vendors, and an adapter to use a SN95 5.0 60mm or larger throttle body.
@davesfordperformancegarage45117 ай бұрын
I could of gone that route,as I have all of that"extra intakes and a 65mm throttlebody and adapter "but I already had alot time porting the lower and preferred to have straight fuelinjectors so it would be easier to make a better fuel log, plus I like making stuff
