This season was so special. I think I have watched the highlights of this game countless times on star sports back then. Before the last games of the season this one point looked small. But later this seems like a decider.

Games like this will forever be entrenched in my heart. This season was so special for the team’s history. What a rollercoaster ride it was, from the drama in the dressing room, to the horrible defending causing us to concede early, to Mancini cursing in Italian on the sidelines, all to always come back late and win it. Even till the last second of the season. I miss the City that was just rising to what they are now, and am so glad I was able to experience it. Aguero having just left for Barca, was the last player who was apart of that special team. Man I miss the old City, all of the players, intensity of our games and style of play, and of course Mancini.

Sessignon proving his quality against a top side. That was a terrible penalty award. The striker was running in the opposite direction to the goalposts when he threw himself at the defender.

Chelsea very nearly matched it in 2006 as well. Had one draw vs Charlton but won the rest. Great record for Sunderland to have.

Amazing game but if Sunderland had just hung on for a win it would have mean that United would have gone into the final day with the title in their own hands and 'Aguerooooooooooooo would have never happened. Just shows how fortunate City were to win that first PL title with messing up against the likes of Sunderland and QPR at home at vital times and bailing themselves out of it late on.

Legends Sportmastercaster that’s just wrong we beat Man City at home before and times after this is the chance we could have beaten them at the etihad here though. This game is also interesting as Sunderland were a difficult team for Man City interesting we won worth a last minute winner in the home game, they score two late goals and won the title this way one of them nearly the last minute.

@@legendarysportmastercaster4536 The Black Cats beat City at the Stadium of Light the last year that O'Neill managed them. The score was 1-0 on a late skidding goal struck from distance by Adam Johnson that just squeaked inside the post. Sunderland then effectively "parked the bus" for the last eight or so minutes with 7 players standing tightly together in front of Mignolet and the remaining three sweeping between the 6 yard box and the penalty area perimeter. Mancini was choked. He knew that Sunderland was his bogey team.
