This machine is an absolute piece of junk and you cannot trust that you will get a working unit. My friend has one,hasn’t had a problem. I bought it on their recommendation. I’ve had to have three repairs done to it already and I haven’t even had it five months not to mention the warranty is ticking away while I am busy shipping it back-and-forth to these people who can’t even take a phone call and only respond to you via email, it’s really the worst

When I use 60 grams of coffee to one liter of water in a Ninja coffee maker it is very strong/ bitter?

You are wrong on 3 things. Firstly, the Breville and Brewsly don't have a boiler, it uses a thermocoil/thermoblock heating system. Secondly, there is temperature adjustment on the Breville of +/- 2 degrees. Lastly, there is a PID on the Breville. Just trying to provide feedback, but there was almost no comparisons between the machines other than cost and build quality. You could have compared the espressos brewed between the machines blind folded. Or talked about pros and cons of each machine rather than talk up the Linea Mini because of its price/ Additionally, the lack of knowledge and fact checking between the machines such as the heating system type really made me question your competence considering you are a "coffee KZfaqr".

I believe the people who prefer scalding their tongue are mostly older people who came of age drinking pre-ground coffee from a tin. Not the 3rd wave of higher quality and lighter roast. With the tinned coffee, you need it hot to not taste so bad. You’ll hear the same people say the specialty coffee isn’t ‘coffee’

On one hand, I’m really wanting a very hands-on brewing method that isn’t a pour over…on the other hand, I get annoyed at cleaning a French Press, let alone this -.-

Yes I use a scale and two of them. I put them side by side and they are even a gram difference. I use one in my roasting shop and the other in my coffee bar.

I'm curious about the taste profile if there's any significant difference between flavour clarity / body. The ESP has a bit higher RPM so that might translate to lower clarity and higher body (which is actually what I'm currently looking for since I have high clarity grinders already).
@BensCoffeeRants19 күн бұрын
Wrong! The Opus is just more complicated to dial in maybe due to the micro adjustment but it actually has more granularity so you can adjust the grind size more precisely for espresso!

When you add the mesh filter, do you push it down into the hole? I can’t tell in any instructions online. I wasn’t sure if grounds would get past it if it was pressed in and slightly wrinkled at the sides. Very helpful video!
@dr_gus211123 күн бұрын
I would have liked you to talk about the impact on brewing times, which seems important to me because besides the porosity of the filter, it is the second component which has a major influence on the taste.

You had me laughing on that 3rd recipe section. I'm sitting there watching you stack the Clever on the carafe like "Oh, he's going to show us the hidden internal release mechanism now... ". Good on ya for leaving in elements of what makes us all human. Nice touch and great video.

You mean to say Dark roast good for espresso beans, like cappuccino, Latte?? Light roast good for another black coffee bean's like pour over etc??

I do have one comment. The water tank. I have over head cabinets. Id have to pull the unit out on those rubber feet everytime. And my worry is splashing getting everywhere with the water reservoir. Also I was wondering what seperates the water reservoir from the rest of the machine.

Question? If the gold cup standard is 205 with the coffee cut medium. Then, would the packed coffee need a rougher grind or a higher brew temperature? Seems redundant to me to cut coffee medium for a non flower taste and pack the coffee tight. Just asking.

After a lot of research finally bought a Mignon Zero grinder, it's a amazing piece of art. However I've been struggling with the very little amount of information about the different settings in the dialing knob. I couldn't find so far any microns per mark chart (from zero point) for example. In some cases I saw information about the 3 full turns in the dial (from zero point) being the total range of settings from turkish to french press (0 to 1400 microns), and some others that mentions that is only 1.5 full turns for the full range (again, 0 to 1400 microns). So, pretty confused right now, is there any piece of information about this? Is the full range for the Mignon Zero 3 full turns to the dial knob?

And excellent presentation. You gave me all the info I needed. I use a French Press having lost my drip coffee maker to age for the third time. I was thinking about Pour Over as a way to make a quantity of coffee if I have visitors (a rate occurrence). I don't mind metrics in measurement even when I have to refer to a conversion. And I figure, if it floats your boat at least we're getting down the river.

I think relying on wifi to control settings and removing the buttons is a step backward. I almost got this due to a good discount today (20%+10% for first time buyer) at Chris Coffee, but due to that wifi control with no direct button, I ended up buying the ECM Mechanika Max. The wifi option is good for easy initial set-up and firmware upgrades in the future (assuming they will continue upgrading it). A new technology implementation will always have bugs and issue and without direct controls on the settings is a bad idea.

I noticed that you said to warm your water to 195 to 205 degrees. Does it work if you use room temperature water? I'm going to be drinking it as ice-coffee.... Or is it that the hot water serves to 'activate' the brewing of the coffee?
