Not very clear. Is the difference between espresso and regular coffee the roasting of the beans to dark roast, or are they different beans?

Great video, and you did everything so well and with such care! Allow me to alleviate some of the "cons." You can get a vintage Cory Silex stainless steel setup if you like. You don't get the visual marvel of watching the coffee come back down the tube, but you don't have to worry about breaking it. With this setup, you can use a modern steel (or steel and ceramic) filter, such as the ones for the Yama and Hario pots. You don't need to have a cloth filter that needs maintenance and soaking and so forth! These filters unscrew for cleaning, so they're much easier. You also don't need to wait until the water boils to put the top chamber on! You're waiting for air pressure to escape-and the filter doesn't prevent that. If you put the coffee and everything together before you heat the water, you get a longer brew time. Yes, your way probably does keep the fine silt away from the filter, but this is less of an issue if you aren't using the cloth. I wake up, put water in the bottom (leaving some air space) and coffee in the top, then turn on the stove. Once the water boils up to the top, I stir. When the bubbles stop, I turn off the stove. Then I can go take a shower or whatever. After four minutes or so, the coffee flows back down into the tube and my day begins! Easy peasy, alligator!

HOw's the 2nd pour? My nitrogen is used up after the first. I have to add another cartridge for the second cup.

I was considering this machine until I saw a post here 5 months ago. It was said this machine can cause electric shock. That's not good. Something that simple in any machine in this time and age shouldn't be shocking anyone.

This machine is an absolute piece of junk and you cannot trust that you will get a working unit. My friend has one,hasn’t had a problem. I bought it on their recommendation. I’ve had to have three repairs done to it already and I haven’t even had it five months not to mention the warranty is ticking away while I am busy shipping it back-and-forth to these people who can’t even take a phone call and only respond to you via email, it’s really the worst

You are wrong on 3 things. Firstly, the Breville and Brewsly don't have a boiler, it uses a thermocoil/thermoblock heating system. Secondly, there is temperature adjustment on the Breville of +/- 2 degrees. Lastly, there is a PID on the Breville. Just trying to provide feedback, but there was almost no comparisons between the machines other than cost and build quality. You could have compared the espressos brewed between the machines blind folded. Or talked about pros and cons of each machine rather than talk up the Linea Mini because of its price/ Additionally, the lack of knowledge and fact checking between the machines such as the heating system type really made me question your competence considering you are a "coffee KZfaqr".

I believe the people who prefer scalding their tongue are mostly older people who came of age drinking pre-ground coffee from a tin. Not the 3rd wave of higher quality and lighter roast. With the tinned coffee, you need it hot to not taste so bad. You’ll hear the same people say the specialty coffee isn’t ‘coffee’

Yes I use a scale and two of them. I put them side by side and they are even a gram difference. I use one in my roasting shop and the other in my coffee bar.

I'm curious about the taste profile if there's any significant difference between flavour clarity / body. The ESP has a bit higher RPM so that might translate to lower clarity and higher body (which is actually what I'm currently looking for since I have high clarity grinders already).
@BensCoffeeRants
@BensCoffeeRants Ай бұрын
Wrong! The Opus is just more complicated to dial in maybe due to the micro adjustment but it actually has more granularity so you can adjust the grind size more precisely for espresso!

When you add the mesh filter, do you push it down into the hole? I can’t tell in any instructions online. I wasn’t sure if grounds would get past it if it was pressed in and slightly wrinkled at the sides. Very helpful video!

I would have liked you to talk about the impact on brewing times, which seems important to me because besides the porosity of the filter, it is the second component which has a major influence on the taste.

I do have one comment. The water tank. I have over head cabinets. Id have to pull the unit out on those rubber feet everytime. And my worry is splashing getting everywhere with the water reservoir. Also I was wondering what seperates the water reservoir from the rest of the machine.
