Got a Jonsered 535 classic with gray top from my granfather when i was a kid 10-15years ago. It didnt work. Fixed it today, it was the coil that needed to be replaced. It has also been repaired in the oil tank, but still leaks, going to grind away the old glue repair my father had done and try to get it sealed tight with liquid metal epoxy. Its missing the stopswitch which i lost years ago, and also need a sword and chain and cover. Hoping to have the saw for the remainder of my life.

Awesome! Yea I ended up finding an OEM stop switch I think I got it on Ebay. They are definitely cool unique old saws. I plan on taking possession of all my dads old Jonsereds. At this point they are just all old worn out saws to him. But I just love them. Thanks for sharing!

I have never had a spark plug problem with this machine, Does the check engine light blink when you start the machine up. There are quite a few sensors and electronics on these engines. If the check engine light blinks after startup count the number of blinks and that will correspond to an engine code and atleast point you in the direction of where to start looking for the problem. Just google rmk 900 engine light codes and you you should be able to find the engine light code chart. I hope this helps.

Thanks for this Curtis, I've just removed the carbs on my '94 model, rebuilt them with a carb kit and put them back on, what a nightmare ! I guess the throttle cables need to pull the same so each carb vacuums at the same level at the same time and the idle is set with the sync cable that joins both carbs. So much easier to do on my Vmax 1200 where all adjusment screws are clear to access, this is going to shred my head as I now have to remove some things again to set the air mixture screws that were turned out three time instead of the manuals 2 for the rear and 2.3 for the front, but I'll get there, cheers !

Man Intruders are sweet bikes But accessing the carbs is a nightmare. I still love them though, my 87 pulls harder and has more top speed than my 91. It seems the newer they are the weaker they get. Still cool old bikes though.

Morning Curtis, I bought myself a 1995 Kawasaki KLE with 27.000 miles on it on Wednesday for £1100, new tyres, new hellcat exhaust, new chain & sprockets and lots of other new trinkets & extras, shit homemade paint job but I’m not concerned about that, it looks great from 20 yards away lol, it’s still in my van I’m gonna get it out today (Friday) & get a better look at it as I bought it on impulse, seems a lot of bike for the money? I’ll upload a short video later so you can see it, thought you might be interested? Lost the XR due to misadventures & money problems last year so I’m quite happy again lol, hope you’re doing good man 😊👍
@506curtis
@506curtis 6 ай бұрын
Mikey! Always glad to hear from you. Man that sucks that you had to get rid of the XR but you can be thankful that you had it and you were able to get rid of it to get you out of a tight spot, And now you rose from the ashes and have a cool new bike. I have never even seen a KLE They must have never came to my part of the world. But I just googled it, Is yours 500cc? yea the paint job doesn't matter I am sure you can strip the paint and scrape and heat gun the plastics and it will look like a million bucks, I am doing good, not getting rich or poor, just doing good, Contracting for a new company my friends started two years ago, Fabricating and also rebuilding underground mining equipment components, they found a hole in the market and went for it. And are doing very well. We are moving into a new big fancy shop right away here. It took them over a year to convince me to come contract for them. But I finally gave in, they pay me well for what the job is. They offered me a management position but I deflected the conversation. It might be in my best interest to get into a position like that at a new rapidly expanding company. But I'd like to live my willy nilly contractor life style for a little while longer. So I don't know but either way I am doin just fine ole Mikey. I will look out for your video Congrats on the new bike and thank you for thinking of me. It is always good to hear from you ole Mikey. I hope that you are doing well and all is good in your neck of the woods .I wish I could video some of the cool projects and machinery that I get involved with these days, but it's not my business and not my property to be posting online. But that's just life. See you on the next one Mikey!

Glad to hear you’re doing ok you’re no fool I’m sure the right path will find you, upwards & onwards mate 💪😬👍

Legit question...what does it mean when oil is coming out exhaust port of cylinder?
@506curtis
@506curtis 4 ай бұрын
Not exactly sure what you are asking here but a certain amount of black oil residue will come out of the exhaust of any two stroke, The amount will depend on your mix ratio or oil pump setting depending on if it is oil injected or a pre mix engine.
@506curtis
@506curtis 4 ай бұрын
Some oil injection systems if the pump or cable to the injection system fails they default to a wide open oil injection as a fail safe. So oil and smoke out of your exhaust is a good thing. Versus a clean exhaust with little or no smoke. An oil rich two stroke will run forever where an oil lean two stroke may make more power, but only for a short time before it siezes. two strokes like gas and oil.

we have to pay import duty on a work vehicle like this in Australia, so if we need a welder we are screwed so they patch it and limp it to a workshop since we dont got the 4x4 to get to it
@506curtis
@506curtis 4 ай бұрын
That sucks, But also really big equipment you can't just simply bring it to a repair shop, unless you take it apart and bring the broken component in. But I see what you are saying and that sucks because often times major repairs can just be completed in the field and save all those disassembly and transport costs,

Thank you for your video. For those who are wondering how to adjust the screws to synchronize the carburetors. The little philip head screw with the 7mm lock nut is the first one you do to synchronize the idle system. It's located on the top carburetor, just ahead of the top throttle cable adjustment. Once idle sync is done, then be processed the the top throttle cable adjustment. Rev motor up to about half throttle and sycn. That's pretty much all you have to do. There is no need to touch any other cable adjustments.
