Hate to be a joy killer but give the NFL two weeks of game tape and they will bring schemes to slow the Seattle offense down! Grub will have to make huge in-game adjustments. I hope he is up to it. No team has ever dominated with unstoppable Offense for too long! So tone it down a bit before you are bitterly disappointed the first time it happens! POMO

Thank you Corbin & Rob for for not being afraid to say the two interceptions were on Geno Smith. A lot of Seahawk podcasters treat Geno like he can do no wrong and would not say anything about who threw the picks. It made me mad and I had to wait overnight to find out the truth. There is a reason I tune in to your show every morning, I want the facts! Might as well be brave enough to include whether or not Sam Howell did anything good in the practices, Sam is being treated like a 2nd class citizen and I am sick and tired of it! We know how the NFL works, The man who is being paid millions will start but I can't wait for Sam have to come in and bail out Geno when needed. So come on guys, give us more Sam Howell news! My original comment was rude and made without looking back on what I said, I apologize. Sam, will get his time when he shows he is ready. Geno ranked top 10 in every QB category and is the locker room leader-sorry, Sam will not overtake Geno for the starting spot and given his play last year, he won’t win it any time soon. He could be really good and has shown flashes but he is far from being treated like a second class citizen like you claim. The third QB they signed is more mobile and also has NFL starting experience. So, if anything, that signing is great news for Sam because PJ Walker will probably be running the scout team. Welcome to the fan base, here’s to a fun inaugural season for Coach Mac. The first season here with Pete 13 years ago was fun too

@curtbernard755 John himself referred to Sam as a backup in the trade. If he's lightning in a bottle that's awesome, but I'm unsure why fans are so invested in him. More than any backup in this era. More than Geno when he was #3's backup. It's wild to me.

Bryant I'd say has zero chance. Lacking foot speed to play CB. There are better options a safety who have better skills. In coverage he's just not good. You can't hide him. Teams will see where he is an attack him. It happened to Wagner and Brooks last year. When teams needed a first downs, they attacked Wagner or Brooks for free completions. If you just blitz him teams know that and play for it making him worthless like they did Adams. When you know Adams is coming, he never got close to the QB and was worthless blitzing and in coverage like Bryant. It's why Adams hasn't signed now. His play last year was a horror show.

It'll be easy to retain Tyler Lockett in 2025. If he wants to play another season, we release him, pay the $4m dead cap and then re-sign him to a $12-15m one year contract, instantly saving $11-14 million on the $30m we'd be on the hook for if we keep him on.
@larrylindgren9484
@larrylindgren9484 Күн бұрын
Releasing him. Unless of course his play drops off a cliff someone will pay him. Unless money isn't his thing and being in Seattle is something he wants he's gone. Saying that there is no way you pay him 30 next year. Even if he gives you 1600 yards and 8 TDs. It's ruining your cap. Cap next year Seattle doesn't have. You can't keep pushing money into the future. It comes due then you have to cut players you want. SF has cut players this year you know they wanted because of cap hits. The way Geno's contact is written if he has a good year, he a 50 guy. He gambled and might just win. 30 for a WR and 50 for a QB with 16 in cap space next year. Good luck.

So, we need insane money for a get who just gives you average play. So far that's DK. You are paying him at a 1600 range, and he struggles to get you a 1000. Drops way too many catchable balls. Weak at 50 50 balls. Very poor route runner and it's why he struggles to beat most corners. Stupid after the play penalties. Talented you bet but to this point in his career has been way overpaid because of what he gives you. Barely a 50% catch rate, bad penalties and dropped passes.

@@larrylindgren9484 Thank god you’re just some dumbass in the comments who doesnt know shit! He gets paid FOR FUTURE POTENTIAL AND OUTPUT, NOT WHAT HES DONE SO FAR. BECAUSE LETS BE HONEST, HE WAS GREAT UNTIL WE LOSS RUSSELL WILSON. HES BEEN PRETTY GOOD WITH GENO BUT OF COURSE HE CAN GET BETTER. We’ve had to watch him mature from a young man, To a potential Hall of famer if the next 5-7 years go how I expect them to go. He doesnt struggle to get 1000 yards, The Seahawks have literally had SHANE WALDRON trash ass calling plays on offense amongst other problems (TERRIBLE Oline, Defense has been shit, Pete Carroll was extreme outdated and his coaching staffs have SUCKED since DK has been a Seahawks) DK is going to be the future of our franchise. Look at his production for the first 5 years, and if you dont think he can have those SAME numbers in the NEXT 5-6 years, then you just dont know ball. When he hits his prime and becomes damn near UNSTOPPABLE, I want him on THE SEATTLE SEAHAWKS. Look at Julio Jones when he was in his prime. DK can do all of that if not better. Yeah he has to work on his 50/50 balls, But we have to be better at calling plays that are PURE catch and RUN deep balls, because thats where DK is at his best. its the NFL, Hes not gonna Moss every DB in 2024, theres too much talent in the league.

@@rig2037 Yet you can use the TE in a FB spot. Showing another wrinkle the defense has to plan for. You Power I. The defense sees it. You then motion out of it causing them to change. A guy who can block or split out. It doesn't have to be, "I'm a FB and do nothing but block." A guy who can run WR patterns coming out of the backfield is a weapon teams can't ignore. You can't put a LB on him, or he gets beat because he's a WR or TE lining up as a FB who can do what a FB does plus what a WR does.

600 yards is only 35 a game. They better get 600 each or it's a long season for Seattle. Murphy will not get the sacks. He plays a low sack position. Even if a Donald for Seattle Donald only got 9. That was insane number really. A Donald doesn't come along every day. More likely 5, 5 doesn't win the award. But you never know I guess if the other rookies don't stand out. But I'd say there is zero chance. If he's good, he's going to see a ton of double teams. Double teams in the NFL are different than in college. The OL are actually good who are doing them in the NFL. As great as Donald was his numbers were hurt by the double teams he got.

Tons of ifs on the team. If yes, it's a lot of the ifs fail top 3 isn't a reach. The HC could fail. The OC could fail. All the new players on defense could just not be good. The OL could fail. That's not a reach. I still think there will be growing pain even if it works long term. Totally new staff and systems. New players everywhere. 6 wins is more the normal then 9+ wins.

If you look at the group of TE last year. He split time with them. If he gets the time he could. But with Seattle wanting to run. To get all those yards from everyone means you are chucking it 40 times a game. Is Geno a 40+ passer. I don't think you want that. 25-35 (ish) run pass means succuss.

OL is definitely a major concern. We can't blame JS for not addressing it in the draft/UDFAs and hiring an OL guy at OC. But relying on hopeful strides from Olu and Bradford is concerning. Hoping Christian Haynes develops in-season is concerning. Hoping Abe's knee is right is concerning. I know JS was busy in the offseason retooling the defense, but Laken T might end up being a starter and G Fant relied upon for a full season--which is concerning. Most concerning is how Grubb's offense can adapt and translate to the NFL--with an OL as full of question marks as ours. I'm positive the defense will be greatly improved under Mac. How we look on offense--ESPECIALLY on the OLine--will determine if this a one or multiyear turnaround.

I keep telling people who think Seattle easily wins 11+ games. Why? Look at all the ifs that have to happen. It's just not going to happen. If half hit, they are a 6-win team. Sure, if they all hit, they very well could be a 11+ win team. But I'd not bet the farm on it. I bet 6 wins just because of all the ifs. New offense. New Defense. All new coaches. Rookie HC. 90% of the defense has turned over. Ifs at every stop on the OL. DK actually living up to the money they are paying him. Is Fant an actual TE. Next year's cap is horrible, so you aren't buying FAs. Biggest if is if Geno plays great the way his contract is written (he gambled on himself) he prices his way out of Seattle. His contract will be north of 50. Is Geno a 50+ guy. His numbers could say that. That's scary. Seattle is in the SB of ifs by a mile.

No, the defense. The OL could end up the 5 all pros and is will not matter if the defense sucks like it has well since the LOB broke up. Hard to score without the ball. Hard to score when the other team has it 37+ minutes a game. You don't win many games having the ball 23ish minutes a game. Seattle wasn't bad on offense if you look at points per minute on offense. They just never have the ball.
