Pour moi, cette danse est un championnat du monde. Je les ai vus une fois danser et ça a été un choc, un grand choc. A 43 ans, je les regarde de temps en temps et c'est toujours un choc pour moi. Une performance tout simplement magistrale

Javier is masterful. And so much more than just vogue. He's a true experimental dancer. And that part where they linked up. That was pure art from the soul. i just wished the girl with the gloves sat her as down. she was so anxious to show someone her moves. lol.

I remember that performance. I also remember that there used to be a video from a different perspective, so the visual reception was much better. Unfortunately, that recording is no longer available. This close-to-the-stage footage doesn't do justice to how amazing this show is.

Discovered it as a teen, I'm 30 now, still watching it from time to time. It's the best dance ever, the level of perfection and pure awe almost draws tears.. The slow-mo stuff, the robot movements, the rewind movements, how they created these to convey the picture to the audience, or how some movements are such a visual description of the sounds.. it is just epic. I have no words to describe it, but it's a very natural extension of the music which also kicks ass. Someone really understood the assignment and I think it's the best example of how a dance should complement music.

I sort of forgot this video... Heh... Short stupid story for those scrolling, if you like. A tale to tell you not to give up. A long time ago, wherever this was ORIGINALLY posted, I walked into it while using one of those web portal things at school to access a hacked version of youtube. I'd hit the random button to see what was on the featured page, or look up music I was really into. I had just played san andreas for the first time, and I was trying to find more music. I torrented the game and the soundtrack at the time, and tbh I prefer that over a CD copy. Anyways. This popped up. I mostly liked the music. I was a big fan of late 80's west side US hiphop at the time, so hearing a based beat at the time was exciting to me. But, when I tried to look into the music itself, it was actually near impossible to find. Whether it was because I was in the US, or it was the first time I'd ever really used the internet, for whatever reason blue tape and blue tape 2, even the demos, by vicelow, were impossible. Finding SoFly's music, impossible. Makes me wonder if at the time he was doing street distribution because I had only heard snippets in street performance videos and things like that. From there since I couldn't find it, I decided to try and recreate it. I had an ancient copy of REAPER on a CD, so I tried to rebuild it. It was near impossible because of what I had available. But, in doing research, I head found other things like VirtualDJ, and started getting into it myself. I'd DJ at lunch at school, but was a little embarrassed that someone would walk up and scared someone would just steal stuff, so I'd fidget in my bag and play with my music. Wait for the bell to bong. College eventually... happened to me... is how I'll say it. I didn't really want to be there. But, the opportunity came up to help with an event, then I ended up as the only person interested in doing anything for music after about a week. So, I did my best. Show was a wreck. I didn't have all my equipment, just my amp and my laptop, no monitor, my headphones were being a shit so I had to use the monitor out on my amp and just overdrive the loose connection and pray they wouldn't break, and a friend was connected on a call in steam the whole time listening. Both to me panic but liked my style. This attention seeker kind of took over the whole thing after about an hour and a half and my playlist ended up out the window. Shed yell and scream at "I don't want that song", I don't know what the fuck was wrong with her. But it honestly turned me off from ever wanting to do that again. Now, many, MANY years later, I am actually typing on the macbook that I drooled over in the apple store when all I had was some shit AMD E450 based peice of shit that could barely run ANYTHING, the only thing it didn't do was allow VDJ to crash. Now, VDJ is both more complicated and yet easier to modify for controls, and in all this time since doing this, a passion that I loved, I've had multiple things, horrible things, happen to me. Yet here I am typing this. On one of my dream computers no less. I'm about to start a large scale campaign for the game development industry, I'm working on a business proposal for Valve, and hell I'm even coming back to music. I'm just.... moving slowly. Not as fast as I did before. But, I still want to do what I like to do, even if it was a 12 to 18 year old me that was interested, its still a 30 year old me who is bored and has nothing to do. Might as well play with music, rather than be sad. Be proud of yourself, reader, because if you have gone through anything like I have, and you're still trying, thats worth some merit.
