We much prefer to see male Scottish dancers! It's nice to see their kilt lift and see a butt or a cock 🍑 The NetFlix series Outlander is famous not for its women but for its magnificent Scottish males 😉

Can anyone tell me who are or what is the Cavern Navaerracht? Not even sure if I even spelt that correctly but I also heard the commentator refer to it in a subsequent Edinburgh military tattoo. An explanation or definition would be welcome, thank you.
@konstantinschmitz3209
@konstantinschmitz3209 Жыл бұрын
It's not "Cavern Navaerracht", its "Cameron of Erracht", the name of a minor noble family of scotland. Their tartan is used by the military, because a member of their family raised the regiment known as the "Cameron Highlanders", which existed all the way to 1961, where they where merged into the "The Queen's Own Highlanders", due to the government deciding to reduce the size of the army. Hope i could help you :-)

@@bronsonleach3573 Yes, Clan Cameron is most certainly not a "minor" family. However, i was, like the announcer in the video, specifically referring to the Camerons of Erracht, a smaller branch family of this larger clan.

do you know if those guys go naked under those kilts? or do they put on undies to dance? 😂
@VredesStall
@VredesStall 3 жыл бұрын
@@lydiadoyle5219 A few things on this: There is an old saying for the "tradition" of soldiers not wearing undies when they are out conducting field exercises... which US troops call "going commando" and UK troops call "going regimental". As it applies to kilts... the actual attitude and formal tradition has been to not wear anything underneath when wearing it, but I do think that has changed in more recent times (or at least is more optional) for obvious hygiene reasons and especially at more formal gatherings like weddings, ect. as well as at public sporting events where the athletes or competitors do wear undies for the sake of propriety and when good manners are otherwise expected. As a humorous side note.... whenever someone (but especially a woman) asks what is worn under the kilt, a very common answer (but particularly by a Scotsman) will be something like: "Nothing is worn, Ma'am. Everything is in fine working order". Of course... my personal answer (especially if it's a guy being a smart-ass or jerk) would be: "Your mother's lipstick". lol

Thank you for uploading this. I have been looking for it for a number of years on KZfaq. I attended the Queen Mothers 90th Birthday Parade at Horse Guards on 27th June 1990, representing one of the charities that she was patron. Wing Commander Barry Hingley, who I believe composed this piece especially for her 90th birthday conducted the combined military bands on the day and I found this music so beautiful and haunting at the time. They had a choir too, although I can-not remember the words to the tune. An amazing rendition of cherished music, just how I remembered it, which brought back emotional memories and a lump to my throat.
@madjock2878
@madjock2878 3 жыл бұрын
We also played this tune in the 1994 Edinburgh Military Tattoo ( I was there with the Massed Pipes and Drums of the RAF ) Wg Cdr Hingley conducting and the last part was played as pipers stopped at the end of each part leaving just two Gordon Highlanders playing the final bars. The Tattoo was designated Farewell to the Gordons. As they amalgamated with the Queens Own Highlanders a few months later to form "The Highlanders" ( Seaforth's Cameron's and Gordons) the regiment survives today as 4 Scots, Royal Regiment of Scotland. Which could not be formed until the Queen Mother passed away as she was Col in Chief of the Black Watch and no one dared merge the BW while she was alive, sorry for the detail, I still have the music and play it occasionally. If you look up 1994 Gordons Tattoo on KZfaq it may be on the recording.
