We're producing a repair manual for this model. When doing this we disassemble the entire machine taking pictures along the way for the manual.

1:50 Hey all you longtime bike riders out there ,look at the clutch cable lock nuts, why would Honda decide to do it this way on this model only? We all know it is incorrect, but it is shown in the manual this way also. The threads on mine were starting to wear off until I fixed it.

I was a Honda motorcycle mechanic for 30 years .. If you don't have the pocket tester why don't you use the MIL tool to read the DTC codes ..
@Cyclepedia9 күн бұрын
We just wanted to show people you can read the MIL blinks with no tools as most won't have what you mentioned and don't want to go to the dealership just to fix a simple problem like the atv in the video had.

When i pulled the oil drain plug on my KVF650 like a whole gallon of gas poured out so im gonna replace the fuel needles but is there anything else i need to? Check like maybe that plastic fuel pump?
@CyclepediaАй бұрын
Fuel needles are very common to fail and cause this, make sure the needle seats are clean and should solve the problem. You might want to check the fuel valve, it was leaking on the machine from the video. Kawasaki only sells the whole part but you can get a rebuild kit and we have the steps in our free manual. I'll put a link below in case you need it for this or the carbs. www.cyclepedia.com/manuals/online/cpp-153/

I took it apart this weekend and found that the two choke plunger o-rings were installed pinched so fuel was leaking past there and flooding the cylinder then washing down into the crankcase 😢 not good after that i had a heck of a time finding them luckily its all back together now but its definitely ticking now even after a valve adjustment so probably gonna need cams and rockers 😞

Maybe you can help me 2014 Honda FROZA 300 will not start pushing the Starter button, but when you jump the solenoid, the motor would start up and runs fine. This problem was it intermittent for a while, but now it doesn’t start at all. I have to continuously lift the seat up and jump the starter. I have power to the ignition switch all the way down to the solenoid. Also, the kickstand has to be up and the break has to be held to start. Any ideas would help Rob.

Help, I can't manage to screw out the allen under the fork without the smaller spring inside the forks rotating with it.. I tried lodging a screwdriver in to hold it in place, but to no avail.. The whole assembly on the bottom is just rotating with it (I guess it's because of the sticky threads)

This is a great video. I bought one of those tools to remove the front wheel bearings off my 1972 CB750. I figured I’d go with this style bearing puller as the slide hammer seems a bit violent…especially on other applications such as engine cases etc.. In fact I was a bit confused at how the puller did the job since there were so many nuts to tighten, I ended up doing exactly what you said most people end up doing. So glad I watched your video. Thank you.

just purchased a 2022 RM85 for my son VIA FB marketplace and forgot to check the oil drain plug not thinking anything. The guy put some sort of epoxy crap all over the drain bolt plug and I cannot get it off. It leaks oil through this epoxy so I bet he cracked it or cross threaded it. Either way a very bad move to make by putting epoxy on it and he hid it from me obviously.
@CyclepediaАй бұрын
Unfortunately that is common on those engines and hate to hear this. You may be able to remove enough epoxy to clean and do a better repair. We have a manual for that bike on our website if you need it. www.cyclepedia.com/online-manuals/suzuki-atv-motorcycle-scooter-online-repair-manuals/

How can I tell if the rocker arms are no good?
@CyclepediaАй бұрын
Well if you have the repair manual or at least the specifications you can measure the parts to see if they are in spec or if they are really bad the parts will look terrible and be very sloppy when installed.

I've just had a similar problem but it was torquing it back up to spec. Had the springs in fully compressed with my whole weight and got it to approx 5nm under the torque setting before it just continued to spin.
@Cyclepedia3 ай бұрын
In that case you will need to take the fork apart and hold the damper so the bolt can be properly torqued. You should be able to save the new fork oil by dumping it in a clean container then reuse it, just check the amount as you may need to add a bit.

I think you have completely missed the point on this video, I have an inside leg of 32 inch I’ve owned and ridden huge mileages and crossed continents on adventure bikes like the KTM 950 as well as ridden many smaller adventures on Cagiva elefant, BMWs etc. I’m now getting on in years and find the Yamaha excellent for my senior needs. I’ve lowered it 20 mm rear 10 mm front. Riding the bike it’s so much more manageable and rides far better on roads handling is more nibble and flick ability through bends much more secure and precise. While loaded with luggage it’s far easier in every respect. Maybe it’s lost a little bit of its extreme off road usage but as an all rounder it’s improved in many respects. It is after all a dual purpose adventure bike not a pure off road machine. For me it really suits the lower set up.
