I'm from Gary as well & he is right about a lot of things but for me GI wasn't really that bad, it had its ups & downs but even during the Horace Mann murders everyone's goal was to live, even when the national guard came it still didn't feel like a warzone torn country as seen on T.V.. shidd we just had the national guard tankers on the streets of Gary with the other police & fire trucks which looked kinda cool to me & my friends. I went to Beckman middle school in Gary & we learned French, home ect, music, art, shop, drama etc & most of my classmates lived in Delaney projects saying that to say we all received the same education. So it was a lot of Good in gary back in the 80's 90's 2000's. as far as hoods & sets..
