No preparation, it’s White eggshell paint. Glidden premium is what I use.

This is a very pretty tile. I'm going to try that with the wedge on coasters. Thank you for the idea. When you use the catalyst, do you skim the surface or do you dig all the way down through the paint? It's exciting that you are doing a backsplash. I've done one too, and I did wooden tiles for a border around the patio door outside, and also for a trim along the deck wall. I hope you keep showing your backsplash ideas and the final result at the end.

When you use the catalyst i pressed it down onto the tile . Keep it up right. Yes i will show the backsplash. I have a few more to paint. And resin. Ya i put a border across the top of my porch . It looks cool. I used 2 sided gorilla tape.
