Grief sounds a lot like a midlife crisis. I feel a lot of these feelings after losing my husband and leaving our nine children and I behind. My brother had brain cancer years ago (I was 2 y.o), with a 5% chance of survival. He got chemo and radiation and survived, and he's still here. Sounds great, doesn't it..! Except it's not. He has a mindset the equivalent of an alzheimers patient combined with a schizophrenic, pees in bed at night and doesn't even recognize the fact and thinks that holding cats by their tails is normal. My childhood was hell. Instead of worrying about normal childish things, I was worrying about the next nasty comment to the waitress at a restaurant or the next freakout in Walmart. And then all the health problems since then. It's not his fault, but I have to wonder if life is really worth it then. 🤷🏼‍♀️ I told myself for years now that there's no way I'm ever doing that.

I was diagnosed in 2017 with invasive metastatic breast cancer. I had a biopsy which I regret because of the infection that developed in the breast, went on to have a lumpectomy. I was told that the margins were not clear so chemo and mastectomy were recommended. I stopped and refused because of the "red flags" I was noticing from the oncology. After the lumpectomy I developed huge tumors in my breast, 14 I was told! I took a hormone blocker and those tumors just about disappeared. The side effects of that medication was and is horrific, at least for me. The tumors came back again along the scar line of the lumpectomy. Oncology told me that they made a mistake and my breast cancer is in all the tissue of my breast, and not as originally thought. After some very heated conversations on the part of oncology, I just walked away. I went home to treat myself. I made my own hormone blocker from grape seed. I fast, need to do that more. Apparently according to oncology the cancer is very deep into my chest wall so I decided not to have a mastectomy. They told me that they probably would not be able to remove all the cancer in my chest, so I said so why put myself through all that?? I still have lumps in my breast and oncology will have nothing to do with me because I refused to follow their plans for me. I apparently have hormone positive stage 4 breast cancer. I was on Letrozole which has taken a huge toll on my overall health. As you said some medications are worse than the disease! Letrozole can blind you, give a stroke or major heart attack it destroys the bones and teeth, and so much more! Does anyone have other info on this medication, it is a hormone blocker, oh yes it can add as much as 50 to 100 extra pounds..
