I think there is one more solution. The fielding team and batting team are held still responsible for what happens after decision is overturned. This will ensure both bowling and batting team play out each ball until it is dead before reacting to umpires decision (esp when it is close call decisions while ball is still in play)

Say the ball went legside and the batsmen ran for leg byes and got run out. Now can we still argue that the rule is unfair. 🤔🤔🤔

Bangladesh should not have appealed. If u appeal, Umpire should take a decision. And if he takes a decision ball has to be dead. If not there will be several other problems that could arise. Bangladesh is unfortunate in this case, but solution is appeal carefully

It will be sorted out soon, imo. These rules don't usually change till they f*** up a match outcome. For example, the more boundaries rule in case super over is tied. It got sorted after the WC19 final fiasco.

One thing to add here is that they wanted to use the athletic surfaces in Van Cortland Park in the Bronx, same ones that New York University uses for athletics, and that was the plan for the first two years until some local residents complained to the city council that they wouldn't be able to use the park fully during the world cup, and also impuning the likelihood of good crowds there and thus convinced the New York City Council that it was unjustified. It seems to have reached almost no one in the US beyond the diaspora of expats, and tickets have been priced so that curious potential new fans aren't coming to the games. Your documentary proves more and more correct as time passes. Imagine if for the same investment we had put a world cup in Africa or the Phillipines, or Indonesia, or Brazil where for the same money we could have had a much more appealing tournament with a far larger long term impact in spreading the game.

the umpiring in that match was soo bad... they didn't give a wide and next ball it was again wide umpire gave the 2nd one wide while the previous one was wider yet he didn't gave it... annoying as hell
