Parisian drivers are indeed becoming increasingly abusive of pedestrian rights and no longer respecting the law yet the fine for refusing Walker right at road crossings is very heavy but surely not enough enforced by cops.

If i'm not mistaken that building with all the bitterflies is a squatt that you can actually enter for free and visit. It's occupied by dozens of artists. It's a really cool place. Each one has their own little studio and you get to see their works and even meet them when they're around

We did online and they gave online card. There will still be a phone call before we arrive? Do we still have to go to guest services for anything once we get there? Was hoping to do rooe drop for Hagrids but if we have to go to guest services then that will blow that idea.

Why should they try that when there is so much more interesting they can see. La butte Chaumont , jardins du Luxembourg et son guignol show and above all so many others museums even go to Versailles particularly if there is “les grandes eaux” (water show) as it seems they like classical music as well.

Hello from South France (my hometown is Paris), 🌴🌞 There weren't many people there, I think it's because it was the first service. Tourists favor the service coming next to see Paris at night and all the illuminated monuments. Thank you very much for this magnificent walk along the water, which brought back memories of my youth. 💖

Hello:-) Glad you enjoyed your visit to le Palais Garnier, that’s a very nice place. Attended a few parties in there (and saw quite a few shows as well, which is still the main activity of the place😂). This opera house is more focused on dance while the other Paris state-opera house (Opera Bastille) is dedicated to lyrical shows. Very modern, very comfortable, very airy. Had a look?
@SunshineandFamilyTime2 ай бұрын
Thanks for sharing! I have not been to Opera Bastille, but it sounds amazing!
@LizzieJaneBennetАй бұрын
The partition in 2 specialized operas is quite recent (about the 80's ?). The Opera Garnier used to be the temple of all music arts : lyrics opera, dance, concerts. And the best french school of dance was there too ("les petits rats de l'opéra"👯♀️🩰 and the greatest choregraphers and opera stars dancers use to reherse there). The costume "ateliers" make an amazing work. I remember the guided visit was very interesting. It shows you things you can't see when you visit by yourself. Sorry you were so unlucky with the weather.🥺 Paris use to be an enchantment in Spring time. Nothing similar in rainy days.🥺
@tixienАй бұрын
@@LizzieJaneBennet Well, Opera Bastille’s construction was requested by President François Mitterrand (elected in 1981) and inaugurated in the early 90’s so it would have proven difficult to do it before… If I remember well, Pierre Bergé (lifetime lover of Couture designer Yves Saint-Laurent and YSL Group CEO), who was heading Etablissement public de l’Opera de Paris (state-owned company owning and operating both Garnier and Bastille operahouses), was very keen on creating a specific identity for each house. Actually Opera Bastille was designed to host operas from the get go, with the deepest stage in the world (at the time… I believe Sydney has a deeper one now) and state-of-the-art capabilities to display insane scenery and change it quickly. However you still can watch operas in Garnier and dance shows in Bastille from time to time.

"J'ai été ce que vous êtes, vous serez ce que je suis" ( I was what you are, you shall be what I am) read some inscriptions in the catacombes. Even if you do not read French, just to remind it is basically a huge burial site, and a relatively minor sight in Paris, and not a theme park in which to satisfy the teenage anglo-saxon taste for "creepiness".

The Orsay collection is a bottomless pot of wonders, and the building is a unique beauty. If you want to understand what light is about, you’ll find some keys there. You can plan a 3-4 hours walkthrough (breaks included😊) depending on your commitment but you won’t get away with less than 2 hours. Truth is you could spend days in there. I visited it dozens of times and every time I find new stuff. That’s for the permanent part, then there are exhibitions ; expect to stay 2-4h if you book for one.
