I think in some cases you might not be able to take the dress off, if you sew the skirt on like this because while the fabric stretches, your seam will not do so. If you pull it down over her butt and hips a tight seam can rip. It would be safer to have the bodice a bit longer and the skirt a little lower where the circumference of the doll is the highest. Can anyone confirm this theory?

Столько времени потрачено на ерунду из лоскутов, легче было за это время сшить настоящие и красивые вещи для куклы. Надо для начала сделать выкррйку-основу.

I like that you didn't over complicate Barbie's dress. Your audience doesn't have time for all that, generally. Of course the kids I know tend to undress her and then neglect her, leaving her laying around naked on the ground. I used fabric paint to paint a blue bodice to give her a little modesty. The paint seemed to stick to her plastic skin ok.
