@CatWeazle: For some reason this video is missing from your playlist for the overall Dunwich Legacy playthrough. Don't know if that was deliberate because of the slip with the Act card; if not, I thought you might want to know.

Also, does anyone know if you can only commit one thing a turn or a check for investigators who aren't the active turn doing a test?

@35:27: Just for those of you out there now watching this, I thought I'd point out a cool strategy that would have helped here: burn 3+ resources on Arcane Insight, and have Zoe commit a Double or Nothing. Since he originally went 7 vs. 3, it's the same proportions - 10 vs. 6 from doubled - but you'd have gotten 2 clues. Then pull the same shenanigans for the second pull, and maybe clear the room in two moves.(Just advanced further in the vid, and sure enough this would have advanced in one turn.)

I know it's six years too late, but I thought I'd chime in and say "Thanks for the great Role-play!" Nice to finally get resolution on what happened with the terrible experiment; I played with a friend using Jenny Barnes for me and Rex Murphy for my friend, and we got to the clues quick enough, but the blasted experiment came out just as quickly (turn 3 or 4, can't recall exactly). We got a bunch of locked doors and while Rex was able to smash it down, the experiment came out just in time to foil us. Even the alchemical compound wasn't enough as the jerk had the 13 health, and we got down to 7 or so due to hitting a bunch of -3/-4 and auto-fails. We got so demoralized at the loss we didn't even read the interlude and as I said on a previous comment haven't picked this back up since. Good luck with the next project and can't wait to see how the campaign ends with our Ladie's Mystery Club!

Just dropping a line to see how things are going in the CatWeazle world and hoping everything is going well.

When I played her, I built her to be a face puncher primary and assist as a secondary, so half the deck was "weapons", the other half was a split between allies (Stray Cat, Catburglar, Hired Muscle, etc.) and generically useful cards like Flashlight, Think on Your Feet, etc. It kinda caused us to lose "Extra-Curricular Activities" as we played the same order as CatWeazel here, but we made some porrer choices during "The House Always Wins" including cheating, and spending too much time trying and failing to take down the Conglomeration of Spheres when it came out as our big enemy in the final act while trying to wake up Prof. Morgan from his hazy dreams. I'd say listen to the advice about the speed - it'll save an investigator's life/sanity as poor Roland Banks found out the hard way against the big bad for this scenario.

I originally held off watching this run since I was playing this campaign for the first time with a friend when it first came on the channel. Unfortunately I don't know if or when they'll want to pick this back up, so I'm giving it a watch now and it's pretty fun watching the thematic play. For anyone who sees this now or after today, wanted to point out something: Jenny is an odd duck in this game as she reads as a "rogue" in the D&D sense. What I mean is she is a jack of all trades, master of none type character and can be built to basically back-fill any roles your "party" of investigators is lacking at the time. It's also a little dangerous for first-time players as I found out the hard way as this also means you can kinda build her a little too weak for the environment either by piling all your eggs in the basket of one role, or by picking multiple lanes to slalom between and not switch-hit very well.

Doing a rewatch, when the Gate opened on Patrice after the "Gate and monster appear" card, you drew two monsters as if it was a Mythos draw. I get why you did it, but I feel you should have stuck to the single monster mentioned on the card since it wasn't a Mythos gate spawn. Just my opinion 6 years after the fact 😁

Old video, I know, but the first Exploration token shouldn't have been flipped until Cade and Running Bear had crossed over to the Targa Plateau. Apparently, you can't properly explore if you aren't there. (I'm pretty sure I've flipped the token early myself)

I watched this a few years ago, and am following through again as a refresher for the game. I’ve not played it in a long time. I just noticed that the quest Zuhlana completed stated that it was during her action phase, and not that it was an action. That is differentiated in the rule book on page 17. There are so many subtle nuances that are easy to miss.

Anybody know what size coin cases fit the monster tokens for this game? I've bought two sets of coin cases off Amazon and both sets were far to large for the monster tokens. Please and thank you in advance.

Just popping by the comments to say I found this super late but I'm glad it exists, I have a loose relationship with AH these days and it's always cool to watch someone experience it and walk through their process. I could care less for the meta game, or 'power playing' Arkham Horror, to me it's more about the story and the experience that happens as you play. Anyway I'm loving this so far!

It felt so good to be able to dust off this game and play with my two friends. I have 3 expansions Dunwich Innsmouth and The Black Goat of the Woods. One of my many house rules with this game is the Elder Sign can not only seal a gate and remove a doom marker. But it will also close the gate but the catch is you don't get the gate as a trophy. Another one is at the shops you draw five items skills or spells. Buy what you can or want to buy but. What you don't sits next to the shop and refreshes next turn I thought this house rule adds a little town economy dynamic to the game. I also could'nt resist quoting the Resident Evil 4 merchant for the shops lol. Back when I was really into this game I tried to add some house rules that balanced the game and add in more roleplay dynamics. Also whoever gets the title of first citizen of Arkham at the end of the game. The next time that character is played starts with $5 dollars at the start of the next game.

Ok new house rule just hear me out...think about it. What good would a map of the City of St. Louis do you in the City Chicago? I think the map of Arkham should only work if your character is in Arkham. If your in Dunwich or Innsmouth then it does nothing for you "sensible people" don't bring maps of an area to help them navigate in an entirely different area. That the map they currently have has absolutely nothing to do with.

Glad to have you back. I don't blame you for skipping the retcons for this fight, what with coming back after 5+ months to a fiddly game with an even fiddlier confrontation. I will say that Running Bear did roll a 6 for movement at one point so his Dead Man's Boots would've made him slightly better off sanity-wise. Looking forward to the next video

(Edit: Ah you remembered lol) Any road, great to see you back. The game clearly wanted to welcome you back too, by dumping a ton of undead into the fray. FWIW I had the same problem with my dentist, and as they only have one practitioner atm they don't have a waiting list. Fortunately I don't have any problems, and my commiseration for having to suffer for so long with toothache. Glad you got it sorted, eventually! Right, back to the action Sending good luck wishes back through a time portal for the good old Catweazle dice rolling skills to return! lol
