That is very subjective, however I have found the sweet spot to be between 900-1200 rpm for me.

thx for your efforts... an idea for a possible optimization of the results: change the burr (which one was used here?) and/or change the grind adjustment, i.e. try an even finer grinding - the the parts of the "fines" should increase..
@jesniels5 ай бұрын
Agreed 😊 Just got mine, tested it throughout the day... With light toasts at 600 rpm I can get it to stall, dumping 18g in one go.. every time.. but dumping the beans in over one-two seconds mitigate that...
@nittygritty74345 ай бұрын
First thank you for all this work. I wonder if you can provide your experience regarding the following: How is the grind adjustment accuracy over time, in regard to the top burr carrier & springs design? How accurate is the grind adjustment for repeating an old 'recipe' e.g. if go from recipe setting 1, to different grind setting, then go back to previous grind setting 1 is the result (flavors, brew time, brew ratio) the same or within few seconds every time? There aren't a lot of reviews or user experience regarding 64mm vs 83mm but conventional wisdom seems to say that certain burrs (e.g. SSP Cast) are better in 83mm than 64mm, but otherwise how well the 64mm burr is dialed-in will result in same or very close to 83mm (83mm slightly better in general overall 5-10%). The Swiss guys Kaffeemacher noted the Niche Duo was adjustable to 5 microns while the DF83 was adj. to 20 microns and latter is at edge of being perceptible to most people but it seems the DF83 is easier to install 3rd-party burrs as the Duo was set-up for the Mazzers. We're looking to update our entire coffee game and torn between DF64v and something like Varia VS3 or Niche Zero for the heavy body contrast or going for 83mm to cover everything (clarity, body, smooth, sweet and just enough acidity). Thank you for your time. Regards

Hey Frank.. sorry to keep bothering.. I have the chance to buy the DLC burrs that come with the DF64v. Do you think they could be a good upgrade over the Titanium Burrs or not worthy.

The DF64V DLC Burrs are very nicely finished. Definitely an upgrade compared to titanium burrs IMO.

Wow! Frankie, this looks so nice! When will it be available for purchase? Now I feel it's very difficult to choose, there are quite a few excellent options out there. You've tried the DF83, the DF64V and the new DF64 Gen 2, so which one would you choose as your daily grinder and why? I'm sure you can help me make up my mind. 😂 Thank you so much!
@FrankiesBeansMachines10 ай бұрын
The DF64 gen2 is still some months away as it will need some changes for the Australian/New Zealand markets. Between the DF83 and DF64V which one I'd recommend really depends on what you are after. If you really want to experiment I'd go for DF64V as the rpm control and cheaper cost to switch out burrs would let you really have a great play around. If you want low retention, fast and no need to RDT I'd go for the DF83. Personally my daily grinder changee weekly but somehow seem to gravitate to the DF83. It's speed is what I love.

@FrankiesBeansMachines11 ай бұрын
Thanks for the feedback. Declumper v3.2 is a modified version of v3. In our testing we found v4 to actually be a step backwards hence we decided to modify the v3 declumper. The results of v3.2 were better than v3 and significantly better than v4.

1. Is there anything unique to the Australian model from the rest of the world, the DF83 had a couple of things, does this one? 2. How did you go with taste testing the stock DLC burrs vs SSP? I’m guessing it’s the SSP HU that’s similar.
@FrankiesBeansMachines11 ай бұрын
Other than local support and ensuring it meets local certification there is nothing unique for the Australian model at this stage. There are a couple of things we would like to have changed and may do so in the future. In regards to the DLC vs SSP burrs the DLC perform rather well and I suspect most coffee drinkers would struggle to tell a difference between the burrs especially for milk based beverages.

Hey, what do TDS and E/Y mean ? min 34:32
@FrankiesBeansMachines Жыл бұрын
TDS is Total Dissolved Solids. It is a measurement of the concentration of dissolved substances, such as minerals and other organic compounds, in a liquid. E/Y is extraction yield. Extraction yield, refers to the percentage of coffee solubles that are extracted from the coffee grounds during the brewing process. It is a measurement that quantifies how efficiently the desirable compounds in coffee, such as flavours, aromas, and oils, are extracted from the grounds and transferred into the final brewed coffee.
