I wouldn't say failed but it had potential to be top seller since it's basically mix of Minecraft, terraria and, rimworld but it was very mediocre that I spent 10 hours to side quests and exploring while the main quests only take less than hour

The campaign is too short. It has a potential of massive replayability and I enjoyed the mechanics and the map since it's massive but there's not so much item and structure in the game.

The fact rhat this was only made in 2022 and the graphics this year looks wayy better is amazing

I've got 260 hours in Starbound, I think most of that was with mods though. It had so much promise.

gonna be honest, since i didnt follow this game at all before release and came across it about 3 days after it released, i thought it was fun. and honestly i still enjoy playing it, although the new story it has (Lore wise) now compared to launch is pretty trash.

I return to this video to say 1 thing. Well maybe a few things, first of all I really do now understand why Starbound was abandoned. I still play the game to this very day and I have found many ways to still enjoy playing Starbound. I am still descovering new things about starbound, I play with mods with some friends, we build, we Roleplay, we fight, we live, and we rarely do the story missions after a good while. Even though this game is abandoned, I WILL TRY TO BRING IT BACK TO LIFE. NO MATTER HOW LONG IT TAKES!!!!!

I played it in beta and on release, it was complete dogshit. Felt like a lame clone of terraria, unplayable & boring

The reviews shown here seem cherry picked. The game received 78% positive review score in the last 30 days and a 91% positive review score overall. It has the review bomb mentioned but even selecting those days the game still has a 98% positive score. I also recommend Starbound. 525 Hours play I would say I definitely received my money's worth. I also highly recommend the overhaul mod Frackin' Universe which adds so many great quality of life features such as automation and a bunch of races. I also like playing as the Slime race. With that said I also didn't follow the game's development and just happened upon it one day. I never even played Terraria. In fact I think buying Starbound was the reason I found out about Terraria. I should probably buy it as the current player count does exceed Starbound's by leaps and bounds.

09:52. And there is one reason why I wouldn’t have enjoyed B4B. Destiny recently did a season, “season of the witch” with a card deck building system. I found it too complicated, never understood it and it’s the one season I hated. It’s as if the developers all play “magic the gathering” and think EVERYONE plays deck building card games. I’m wondering if it’s a generational thing. 70’s and 80’s kids didn’t grow up with that sort of thing. So it’s quite alien.

Thank you for featuring my gameplay throughout the end :) really well put video, but I want to add a few things: - the latest update was last August, which brought the new map. Another patch was supposed to follow suit, but has been paused as; - the entirety of Reforged has been maintained mostly by 2 - yes, two - developers, occasionally with some help from the Paladins team. Both of the develpers have been sent to work on other Hi-Rez games which is slowing updates even further. - the game currently gets around 50k players a week, steamcharts numbers have been very inaccurate for a long time now Once again, great video! :)

I have over 400 hours of gameplay in starbound that stretched from Early access to the full release version and I can say that it's a fun game but in all my playthrough, even modded ones, I always reached a point where the game became repetitive and somewhat boring and that was the point where I stopped until a new update came out and I started a new game. I never followed the devs team news but what I'm hearing here is appalling to say the least. I'm conflicted between a game I can say I enjoyed and not wanting to encourage people to give money to a bad gaming company....

I loved back 4 blood, loved evolve and obv both left for dead’s . everything turtle rock has released I love :/ and back 4 blood not being successful sucked because I loved the 1v4 mode and played it non stop

Im almost at 500 hrs in under a year real time. It´s just enjoying at free time or when to work or back to see the progress although on modding is freeze mod amazing for what i envy pc gamer and for 1.6. please eric do it for switch nearly.... I have one season with hand watering 2500 tiles fruits... that was too much work on one day, but now i have over 80 pigs, too much trees i guess around 80 for each season some and 20 in green house witch ancient fruits 7 sheds for melting, 2 halves with cristallarium, 1,5 with kegs for brewery, 2 cellar full of wine, which is 500k every 2 seasons for each, honey box, tree industrie at marnies ranch and at the mine, the innercity will redecorate in black and in a glass cross on the main field and and and.... But the best is you as a player don´t have to play like that. Do what you want and have fun.

One thing that will always ruin a game for me is an ugly screen clutter hud and this game has a pretty bad one. Go watch some back 4 blood modded with the hud turned off. It looks soo much nicer and cleaner. Having a messy hud is fine as long as there is an option to turn it off in the settings but they also didnt even give you that. It ifurates me when developers do that. They spend all that time trying to make the game look good as possible just to slap 30 things on the screen that just dont need to be there. If you need that much stuff on the screen to see what youre doing then youre doing it wrong.

I'm more upset they put any additional resources into this to fight Fortnite instead of putting resources into Paladins to fight Overwatch 2.

A very insightful and well made video, thank you for your work. The only thing I have to say is in certain places your descriptions do not match the posts you’re showing on the screen. It’s somewhat important to me personally that’s why I’m writing this. For example, on 4:42 you say not all fans were optimistic; but the posts you show, albeit criticizing obvious flaws, are actually pretty optimistic about the game’s future. Or on 7:01 where you said many of the game’s supporters started to see it a sinking ship, while the post shown is talking about excuses via chucklefish regarding the game and how in op’s opinion they just have to put something out there since they’ll have time to fix it. And here 8:38 video says from passionate trailblazers to _irresponsible scammers;_ while the post itself just talks about broken promises, how the game had insane potential but the final product was bland, with no such jab at the studio calling them scammers or some sort. As I said, everything is very insightful. It’s just these personally important points I wanted to make. Again, thank you for your work and research that went into making this video.
