The first few words of the video that came from the victim's mother is, in my opinion, part of the reason why things escalate like this. When your child is gone and you boastfully state that she whooped someone and that someone couldn't deal with it. Well, what's worse than the best whooping, if violence is the flex?! Exactly this. This is worse. And a lot of people are having to deal with it.

My sincere condolences and sympathy to the parents of Nyla Lightfoot. Praying that God will comfort them while dealing with this tragedy. Two teenagers has lost their lives. One unalived and one will be locked up for years for her violent behavior. So Sad😢

Ladies fight back the 1st time, so it will be the last time. My kids' father slapped me so hard I thought my head did a spin, at that time I had a 40oz bottle of olde english in my hand(that's 🍺). I took that bottle and busted him in the head with it, and he had to get stitches. My point is he knew if he put his hands on me again, it would be consequences . I NEVER EVER WILL PUT UP WITH A MAN PUTTING THEY HANDS ON ME LIKE IM A DAMN PUNCHING BAG. I FIGHT HARD AND DIRTY AND THAT KEPT ME FROM BEING A BATTERED WOMAN ALL MY LIFE. R.I.P. GONE TO SOON.

The victim blaming in the comments got my pressure up. For the people saying stay off socail media like that would have stopped it, women have been getting killed wayyyy before the internet was even a thing, I dont think anyone should share too much their personal lives on social media but this is the world this generation is growing up in, they cant eat a freaking salad without posting a picture of it, snapchat and other stuff on our phones let everyone, even strangers know our location at any second of the day unless you turn it off on your phone when you dont need it. If a person is obsessed with you, and you dated or were friends with them, it doesn't take long for them to learn where you frequent, who your friends and family are and where they live, most of these predators, and yes, they are predators, are very adept at hiding their true nature and instictantly know how and who to chose as a victim the same as any animal stalking its prey. Nobody meets a potential partner and thinks they could ever kill someone, let alone them. So lay off these beautiful ladies who lost their life to these unstable men I have had a few messy breakups where the guy was angry, upset or whatever, breakups are never usually smooth for both people even when they both know its over we have likely all been there, especially when you are young and full of hormones, but we weren't murdered, these ladies are no different, probably had a few bad breakups and nothing came of it but some hurt feelings, a few drivebys,and some angry words, they couldn't have known this guy would be different and end their lives instead of just moving on like the ones before.
