You can tell that your young and stupid, by the way you were mopping the barrel. While swabbing the barrel, start from the breach and swAb toward the muzzle. 😱

I had a Stevens 12 GA. It was. Nice but the stock looked like a cat sharpind his claws on it and the blueing was worn pretty good and it had rusty spots all over the receiver and barrel so I cleaned it up and refinish it and a guy offered me $110 for it and I sold it to him and why not I paid $25.00 for it and I already had the stuff to refinish it I'm got to see if I can find one or two more to do

Exact make and model of the one I bought in the early seventies. Got it from Montgomery Ward in a big city. $30 dollars and carried it right out the door unwrapped. No background checks or anything. Still like new but needs a new firing pin from too much dry firing.

Using various grits of sandpaper will remove more of the stain and make a slicker finish than the steel wool. Using steel wool between the coats of Polyurethane or other finish coats will make it slicker. Most of the Model 94's by Savage Stevens were Birch hardwood stocks, or some other type of hardwood. I've never seen a Walnut wood stock on a Model 94. I have refinished the stocks on at least 6 different Savage Stevens that needed a new look. Your gun looks nice.

The only other shotgun more North Amercian themed in the single shot genre is the 10 gauge magnum versus the 12 gauge. Geese slayer extroridinaire....and superior samsquatch repellent! Lol
