you can make grinding hard grain like corn a lot easier by first running the grain through a blender. you can do the same with wheat. it make hand grinding easier. been thinking about getting this drill adapter but don't want to have to buy a dewalt drill. too expensive. harbor freight was my choice . so maybe the answer is buy a cheaper drill then run your grain through a blender first. that may take care of the problem, it does make it easier when using the hand crank. have not tried the drill adapter so i'm just guessing.

Im not sure what your problem has been with it. I personally have had a great experience with it and no issues using it for either the stone grinder, or the steel burs. I use a Dewalt 10 amp 3/4 inch drive corded drill and have used it daily with no issues. All I did was follow what my local dealer told me as well as what I was told on the Wondermill website.

Thank you so much for this. I ordered one of this from My Patriot Supply for my son's dorm room. There were no instructions. We have a huge reverse osmosis system and a charcoal filtration system in the house. I wasn't going to risk his drinking water. I just might buy one of these for a back up. As far as I can tell, there is still only one independent study of this filtration system.

I have one f these and you are mistaken if you think the OEM tripod is anything but trash. The one you obtained with your spotter is much better than the factory one. The factory OEM is so bad that just sitting on a table the legs will bend under it's own weight. Agreed on the buy a real tripod for cameras is the best thing and will not need a table to use. The issue with the tabletop tripod has a problem with shaking to veiw anything

I’m thinking of installing one of these in my camper conversion. How about if I created a sealed box inside the van and put the heater inside. It would be vented to the outside with some holes in the side panel and floor. Maybe an electric extractor when the boiler is on. The box would be lined with fire board. Could that work and deal with fumes issues?

For 30.00 or 35.00, it is not worth my time to try to fashion some part to make a work around. That to me does not seem unreasonably expensive. I used my mill this past week for the fist time and milled to half gallon jars; 1 of hard winter wheat for bread, 1 or soft wheat for pastry flour. Having done that and having issues with both shoulder, I wouldn’t want to do it again. Therefore I plan to buy the pulley set and control swith for $100. I will get a used motor as that is the most expensive part. I thought about using the drill attachment however, running the plates too fast will damage them and in my opinion the plates are too expensive to replace (about 90.00) to save a little time. However if I could not afford the pulleys and switch, and had the proper drill, the speed of which could be controlled, that would be another story. And BTW I was surprised that anyone would consider connecting a hammer drill to the grain mill. I think this is not a good idea. It likely would exert undue forces not only to the auger and stones, but to the casing. It would eventually manifest somewhere in the mill; likely the casing which is cast aluminum. And probably it would damage the stones as well.

Your window header isn't right either should be at least 2 2x4 with a 1/2" piece of plywood sandwiched between them and placed 3 1/2" face vertical
@IdahoDualSport

Normally that would be true to maintain structural integrity to carry the weight over it and in my area it would have to be an 8 inch header over that distance but in this case there is a 10 inch beam above it which normally wouldn't be there that's carrying the weight of the roof.

Bead of silicone on the inside edge, and rubber washers underneath the inside washers should make it waterproof. A good reason to have the lid open from the back, is if for some reason you got distracted and didn't shut it properly, the wind won't blow the lid open.

I see this video was made 6 years ago. What he is talking about is not a drill bit, but rather a drill adapter. But I do understand why, when you use a drill that will turn the auger faster than 160 revolutions per minute (RPM's), as is even stated in the directions, it will cause the grinding stones, when they are tight, to create friction and they will burn the flour due to the stones being tight and if they are turned faster than 160 RPM's. If you do have the adapter, I would suggest getting a Milwaukee Hole Hawg 1/2" electric drill, as it has enough torque to turn a 5 or 6 inch hole saw, and if the hole saw hangs up, this drill can actually break your arm or wrist if you aren't paying attention and don't have a good grip on it. i am going to hook up a 24 volt DC motor which has a 9.75:1 gear reduction built in, then using a 9 or 10 tooth sprocket on the gearbox output shaft and between a 28 to 40 tooth sprocket using #40 bicycle chain on the auger, as this should turn the auger below 160 RPM's and will provide plenty of torque to turn it, being it has so much gear reduction. And the 12 volt power should turn the 24 volt DC motor about half the speed, but a 12 volt to 24 volt step up transformer can be used to obtain 24 volts DC, as I have all of this ordered, so we can make anything while on the road in our camper.

I've gotten a couple quotes to get the suspension done on my Colorado. 4wheel part quoted me with the Bilstein 5100 in the rear and b8 6112 in the front. Glad to hear Bilstein made such a difference. I own an older Scorpion AT950 modular. It is a medium. But I think it is too large in that it moves up and down when I ride (constantly have to pull the helmet up).It also is quite heavy, gives me extreme neck pain after a day of riding. I also just (less than a month ago) bought a Aria XD4 and an AVG Sport Modular Helmet. The AVG is super light and an excellent helmet IMO. The Aria XD4 is also an exellent helmet but does not have a sun visor and the weight is noticeable more compared to the AVG . The Aria SD4 Quality really shines through. But it is not as light as the AVG. Both the Aria and AVG fit my head like a glove and they are are comfortable (medium size). just saying

Great feedback! Thanks for sharing. I have a guy ride with that wears an arai helmet as well and loves them. I have another friend that has neck issues that uses a carbon fiber helmet that's extremely lightweight that he likes. I can't remember the brand though. I've been running the scorpion for years as a matter of fact I'm on my second one I have a red one now and have really liked them as far as fit goes but everyone's head is different shapes so you got to get what works for you for sure!

I just purchased the wonder mill, i broke it in by using 1lb of red hard wheat with the manual hand crank, it’s quite a workout so I purchased the adapter and the 9 amp dewalt drill. It’s very hard to maintain an even speed. By the time I had ground 6 cups of flower the drill was smoking, so I don’t think the drill will last very long grinding flower (a $200.00 loss). I have used all type of drills in my business as a building contractor and never had a power drill start smoking when being used. So what I would like to do is build a pulley drive but I would like to hear what some folks have to say about using the pulley and electric motor system to grind flower, and will I ruin the stones in the process.
