To straighten wire en mass. Simply pull it hard with one end in a vice and the other end in some good grippy pliers and make a twisting action back and forth. It will work harden the wire just as much as tapping and will make tyhe wire straighter for cutting

What gauge wire do you use? I might have missed it.
@WirewrapАй бұрын
I think 18 gauge is best for this design but you could possibly use 20 as long as it's half hard wire

@Wirewrap2 ай бұрын
Just depends on what you're making. If you want to make a small name for a necklace probably 20 gauge half hard, if you're making a name bracelet then you want to use 16 gauge

Hi there. I don't usually complain on KZfaq videos and I'm not trying to be nitpicking or insulting toward you. I still hit the "like " button because, overall, I liked the tutorial. But I'm completely finished with one earring and even though you did mention to "center" the beads, I kinda wish you would have instructed/reminded me, as well, to make sure that all the beads were front-facing before the initial wrap that locked them into place. That's a different thing entirely. It's on me because I should have had the foresight so I have no one to blame but myself. But now, I need to re-create this entire earring because I can't sell it looking like this, with all the interior wire exposed. And I'm fairly new at this so it's a bit time-consuming for me. That said, let this be a lesson to y'all jewelry artists out there so that you don't make the same critical mistake I just did!

I added this to the search "steel ring mandrel with groove". There's one that's just a little over $20 that would be perfect. Look for one that is solid stainless steel. Several of them are either plastic or aluminum and they are not as nice to work with. Look for solid stainless steel.

9:40 I live in Denmark, and - unfortunately - we only work in cm. You should think that it ought to be a piece of cake to convert, but if I convert 5¼" I get 13.34 cm, and 2½" = 6.35. But then the longest leg is less than 1 cm, when I have made the first bend. Where do I go wrong? But great video! 👍🏻 I'm going to explore your channel. 🙂
