Dean Evenson would be interesting. He did a lot with a team with no cap space. If they go that route they have to let him pick 2 assistants outside the org. Arniel stays as an assistant but Johnson and Lauer are replaced by Evansons guys.

Good show guys, covered lots of ground. I think Scott Arniel would/could be a good HC, he really needs to surround himself with assistants that bring new ideas to the PK, PP, analytics and integration of younger players into the line up. The Jets can't continue to loose prospects to waivers ( Essiymont, Harkins, Chisolm, Kovacevic all playing regular minutes on other teams) and without a reasonable audition in the line up to see if they fit or at least become trade chips

Thanks for the show, Connor and Brian. Always interesting to listen to your viewpoints on things surrounding the Jets and NHL and other sports related news/info around these parts. Wanting to wish both of your moms a Happy Mothers' Day. I've had the pleasure of meeting Connor's mom and sending greetings to her if she reads this. I'm actually rooting for Dallas now (go figure, changed my mind) and the reason for that is because our Jets are more closely aligned in style with Dallas than they are with Avs and we're seeing the template of how to stop those guys. I think their boys are way quicker though to lay their bodies on the line to stop those pucks and that was the main difference in the two series, from what I've seen. I'm going back and forth on Edmonton/Vancouver because my gut feeling is always to root for the underdog, which seems to be Canucks. In the east, we pretty much know what the final result will be between Canes and Rangers... and I'm torn between Panthers and Bruins but think the edge goes to the Panthers because of the high energy there. I think you guys OVERRATED how ordinary your blueline is-other than Morrisey-especially against the Avs top 2 or 3 blueline.Ans you also overrated the gap in overall forward depth.As an Av fan-Id still say the Jets forwards are slightly deeper-though you'd never know it watching the series. But 5 game series is always a small sample size,etc. I think coaching was a factor but I've said all season that the Jets overachieved all season-relative to talent,& that you gotta credit coaching through the regular season.Jets have good talent but not elite. II do kinda feel foolish for not sticking with what I've said all season that there is a talent gap,& Cup experience gap between these teams. But Giorgievs awful stretch late in the season scared me off of picking the Avs,& that we didn't add a veteran #2 or #3 goalie at the deadline.If Giorgiev couldn't get it done. Only guy we could really turn to was Aninen-a rookie who's played like 10 NHL games.(& maybe lucky for us got sick or they might've replaced Giorgiev after game 1....I would have-but it would've been a mistake with hindsight.) I also got scared off by Droins injury,you taking home ice at the end,& while season series head to heads never mean much-& I knew that-that last game at Ball arena did play a role in changing my pick. Not that you beat us in that game-but getting shelled 7-0 in a late season game that both teams should've been uber motivated in-cuz it essentially decided home ice-that was an eye opener to witness in person. .I knew the Avs wouldnt get swept or run over-like so many thought,(even many Avs fans)-but I did go against my beliefs that we have the better roster,& Cup experience does matter,& I did pick WPG in 7. Ironically,many of the points I made this season,& advantages I saw for the Avs-\played out this series to an even greater degree. But in the playoffs-goalie is often the 2nd most important position in sports. You don't have to have elite goaltending-with talent like the Avs-but can't be awful- especially vs a guy like Hellunbuck. Although we all know Hellunbuck wasn't himself-I don't think much of this series really was his fault.But he wasn't remotely the difference maker many of us Av fans feared. But getting Monahan early gave him more time to adjust,& fit in with your lineup-time Middlestadt didn't have here. But by the time the series started-Middlestadt started to feel comfortable just in time. As an Avs fan I looked foolish late in the reg season after saying at the deadline that Middlestadt is the superior player right now in 2024. Monahan was great during the reg season for you,& it surprised me he was that good. But I feel vindicated this series- that Middlestadt did look like the far superior addition this series. Again that doesn't mean Monahan is garbage like he looked this series -but when I said we got the better overall player-I think that played out. I was right on so much-lol the presumed goaltending gap caused me to overlook it all-even though I still believed we had the better overall team. Also getting Walker was huge. Not just adding him to our lineup but keeping him away from especially WPG-since you are in our division but also Edmonton,& Vancouver-other West teams I heard were in on him.But the team that really desperately needed a guy like Walker-probably was WPG looking back.But great analysis guys-love the show even though we root for different teams.

You guys say that changing li es is not enough for adjustments, but then proceed to go on about Perfetti not being in, which is a line move. Bernard made a specific play change to hurt the Jets, and Bines has not recognized it. I have. I.saw it in game 2.

The Lehkonen goal was not Stanley's fault. Aiafallo didn't give.him the option of getting the puck to him by heading g to the boards. He rolled into the slot instead.. This left Stanley hung out to dry.

I am happy we won , but that game still worries me.if the Avs had gotten average to good goaltending from Gorgyiev , we would have lost by 2 or 3 goals. Hellebuck played okay , but 6 goals his too much , dont wanna be Debby Downer , but Hellebucks , previous play-off record is not good . Brossiots play-off record is much better.............just sayin......

I think Elliot's best point was around the 23:00 mark. The Jets dumping and chasing is situational and needs to be done ONLY by lines 3 and 4. Lines 1 & 2 need to possess the puck and carry and dominate, but the 3rd and 4th line going into the AVs zone and attacking and hurrying and hitting the AVs 4 D that are who they are relying on is critical. Remember when Iaffalo pressured and then got his stick on the puck and right to Vladdy the Baddy who NAILED a beautiful goal. To me, that's the key.

Underrated x factor for wpg is their special teams. Being able to stifle avs pp would be huge. And being able to score pp would tip the scales. Jets best 5/5

God I hope Dallas beats Vegas so we don’t have to play them in the second round. They seem to have their number even more so than Dallas or any other team , at least with Dallas we have a chance. Vegas has always been literally kryptonite for the Jets.
