What was your mindset when hitting the 2nd serve on critical points of the match ?
@user-lf1gg1qy5r18 күн бұрын
omg do you mean I shouldn't fully extend my swing to do kick serves?!?! Sorry being sarcastic to all the other coaches who dont even demonstrate their shiet. lol
@user-lf1gg1qy5r18 күн бұрын
I appreciate coaches who explain and actually do it as well. A lot of people dont show their ball action specially on kick serves haha

Your tossed balls weren’t high. You hit them like normal balls

First drill at 2:50 in? Sorry there are better instructional videos that don't waste my time.
@andrewlilico2218Ай бұрын
Isn't the main use of the forehand slice, apart from drop shots or defensive recoveries or as a variety shot in a long rally, as an approach to get you to the net? Would it be useful to have a drill of taking a mid-court ball with a deep forehand slice and running in to the net after it?

The rating of 5.0 doesn't really mean much. The other player is ranked on the ATP. I expected a blowout, and that's what happened. If you have a UTR rating, that's a lot more accurate than the NTRP 4.0, 5.0, etc.. rating.

I had to have below the knee amputation two years ago. I'm back playing tennis and got a new foot a month ago, which is just great. This one. kzfaq.info4n4zRw1jMe4 My serve was going into the net consistently. This tip plus keeping my head up after serving and extending the racket has really helped.

I’m 70. I have hit a forehand slice my whole tennis life.I take lessons from a coach who hates it ..he wants topspin…yet my opponents hate it more.its natural to me. I can hit topspin too but most opponents face that every day.

Sorry, pros don’t drop like that! Their racket flip back and down when they start the forward swing whereas you’re making a loop actively.

you talk too much about getting to the ball and crossover steps. What about spacing so that you can swivel hips after you hit? What leg do you load from? How much racquet drop? Did you make the advanced video? Thanks
@ATA-wi2lh8 ай бұрын
This is dumb af…if you’re not good enough to beat a pusher, you’re not gonna be comfortable with hitting drop shots…you’re telling 3.5s to try and hit drop shots instead of getting better
@adrianshaw72938 ай бұрын
I always wince when tennis coaches use the word 'forwards', because the motion should be rotational, not linear. Instead, tennis coaches should talk about the kinetic chain bringing the body parts (and the racket) 'around'.

What you suggest is try both and see which one works for you better since you get the right timing. Right¿?¿?

You're not really hitting high balls, though, you're preventing the balls from being high.

You're rotating on the serve - see the video "Avoid Over-Rotating on Your Tennis Serve" on why to fix this.

Exactly what I needed to know. The only challenge is changing the game style as it happens doesn’t come in my mind. I need to talk to myself during the game -“ if plan A doesn’t work, try plan B” . Something like that. Great advice.

Excellent video. Richard Williams was a key advocate that made sure the Williams sisters used this over closed or semi open stances.
