Excellent presentation. I have watched it several times, each time attempting to perform the required testing. I don't see that I can take it online nor can I print it out in order to take it.

Send me one of your irises to Ohio i split these things and propagate them like they are weeds and i needs more.

Actually i use them to displace the weeds because you can just split them with a shovel and make more almost all thru summer and spring and fall here and they live thru winter. They make leaves early so i use them for the early leaves that sprout to push away and border out the weeds the flowers are a bonus.

What a wonderful history and legacy in iris. Those stained glass windows are amazing artistry, you could stare at them all day and appreciate the blends of colour and tone in how it is all put together.

I'm turning 60 in May and have just discovered the Japanese Iris, I am stunned I raised 4 kids in private school and didn't have the money to purchase lots of specialty plants. The property we purchased here in Georgia had a few established fruit trees/grapes and a handful of flowers. I became an expert in the beg/barter system of expanding my flower beds over the years. I had only 5 different Iris in my garden, a few I got from leaving notes on doors or in mailboxes begging for a piece if rhizome in exchange for a plant of their choice from my garden list. I also volunteered my services of autumn of spring division to gardeners in exchange of plants. Soooo this year a friend of my husband's told me his 80 year old Mother needed help with her overcrowded garden.....when I got there she needed removal of huge swaths of Solomons Seal, Salvia, sweet william, hyssop, mint.....cutting back of jasmine etc. but interesting enough she had a rather large bed of what she said was "Japanese" Iris that she needed thinning. Because she was old I thought perhaps she got the name wrong so I asked, "do you mean Siberian Iris"....LOL She said no I mean Japanese Iris". I left her place with a huge cardboard box of these Iris and later on went down the Japanese Iris rabbit hole which is how I ended up here. I have already found about 10 that I want from this video. Sir your Nutcracker Suite is exceptionally beautiful. I hope you do have enough to offer those for sale. Here in Georgia we have lots of rain (usually). Our soil is highly acid as well. The gardener said she had her Japanese Iris growing in the same spot for about 28 years with no problems and has always flowered beautifully. It just became difficult for her to divide the past three or 4 years. Also I know I am writing a Russian novel sized comment but wanted to say we have such high humidity here that the trees and shubs drop drops of water in the morning. I think this really helps our plants. Lastly a decade ago I got a couple of clumps of what another very country gardener called a "swamp iris". It was an odd little bird....here in the South it needs dappled light all day or morning light/afternoon shade and it prefers to be in the low land or bog like areas and flowers late. I have had this flower growing here for a long time and when folks asked me what it is, I always say "swamp iris". Even though I could NOT find this plant anywhere online. After watching this video I realize it's the common "pinwheel" Iris that you showed in this video.

Proud to own a custom Iris lampshade crafted by you during your stained glass years! It hangs over my dining table and is visible from every entry into my house. Mom tells me the shade was crafted towards the end of the stained glass era, and it was down to just you two (no employees per her recollection). My shade measures approximately 24 1/4” diameter at the bottom.

Sounds like there needs to be a significant overhaul/rationalisation of the colour patterns. For example, neglecta is a subset of bitone and variegata is a subset of bicolour. "Emma Cook" should perhaps be extended to be the name for any colour of picotee on the falls.

The dish detergent works as a surfactant which helps with the blending of the mixture and increases the spreading and wetting properties of the mixture. I use a few drops of dish detergent when making my neem oil mixtures.
