Religion is secondary thing. The indigenous people of the Ireland are the Gaelic tribe. And the majority of Gaels became Catholic! The religious aspect is use to dismiss a lot of the reality of the situation back then!

World War 2 is not a very large factor in Russia's population today. Remember that the Soviet Union also included Ukraine, the Baltic States, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan which brought their total population to 198 million before the Axis invasion of the USSR in 1941. Compare that to RUSSIA (not Soviet Union) in 2024 with a population of 144 million. So if the Soviet Union never collapsed, then I estimate the USSR's population would be equal or even higher than the US today, above 300 million.

As you can see Atun-Shei takes the most ridiculous arguments to refute in this series. Any good argument that can be taken seriously is ignored so that he can go after these comical ones. Atun-Shei only goes after the low hanging fruit. He is entertaining if you don't take what he says seriously. His whole point is that the civil war was ONLY about slavery and that there were absolutely no other causes, which is wrong. Slavery was the biggest issue, but it wasn't the only issue.

Fun fact- Humble Pie comes from the tradition of noble, after going hunting, giving the offal of their kills to the poor, and the most common way to cook and eat them was in a pie.

Some of them may have been on drugs. Who knows? However, if they were, it almost definitely wasn't ecstasy, as it wasn't really a common drug until the late 80s and was almost non-existent in 1973. Btw, the reason you think that Bowie looked like an 80s star, who'd travelled back in time, is because he was an absolutely HUGE influence on the artists that were to follow and even today, his influence remains strong. It's often said that, after the Beatles, Bowie is the most influential artist of the modern era! An absolute genius and an impressive human being with it! :)

The 3% may or may not be correct, I can't comment as I don't know but the idea of ownership you used isn't. The person (who obviously isn't and shouldn't be seen as property) would have been owned by one person or two if the cost was shared and there would have been legal documents stating name and details of the owner. So the family collective argument doesn't work.

For DEVON ...the joke at @ 05:30 is that in hotel rooms all over the world up until recent years (still is the case in many hotels) there would be a Bible. "Gideon's Bible" is a Bible left by Gideon's International) to be exact. Every hotel room and Hospital wards, certainly in Europe and majority Christian countries, like Australia. Bit of an old school reference. Airbnb's don't go in for Bibles so much... 🤭

Yeah, languages tend to change and slang manages to gain popularity. Much for the same reasons Douglas didn't use "ye"s and "thou"s and why the written word at the time didn't use fancy lower case 'f's that looked like 's' as they had a mere 50 years prior.

About the final thoughts You brought a great point to the table... But I don't feel so connected to people like that, through their past It actually feels like I'm less and less someone alike them the more I talk to them... But not on the basis of race. It's wealth. It's social/wealth classes. The longer I live, the more I feel like the division, and it hits hard. Makes me feel like I don't even wanna go talk to that person of a distant class cause they wont see it the way I do cause they come from a totally different reality...

I have never been able to believe something to be true when it is something I can't know to be true because I care whether my beliefs are true or not. There are many things that I want to be true but that does not make them true, they are only wishful thinking. If I believe something to be true and it is proven not to be true then I am 100% without hesitation willing to change that belief. Something is either true or it isn't and if you can't know that it is true then the answer should always be I don't know. Religion does not know and cannot know If it's beliefs are true and is why it always has to rely on faith. P.S. Not only am I willing to change my beliefs in the face of empirical evidence I am happy to do so because that means I have just been educated and have learned something new that I didn't know before. Does a god or gods exist? I don't know and truth of the matter is neither does anyone else. For those who say they do know, well they are pretending to know something they don't and can't know. Critical, Skeptical and rational thinking has moved us forward as a species, it is religion that holds us back and tries to keep us in the dark ages.

To answer your question, I don't think there would've been much difference if it was allowed to "peter out" vs. having to fight a war. I think Atun-Shei was correct that it would've taken significant pressure for it to go away, and it would've taken a very long time. Their entire economy was based on slavery and the white supremacist culture as well. We have to drag the south and other states influenced by their culture kicking and screaming into the 21st century. When people's identity is tied to something, and they believe it with all of their might, you can't change their mind with anything less than war. The south, to this day, hasn't had a come to Jesus moment about their white supremacist culture and history. This is why they're fighting against it so hard by preventing black history from being taught in schools, banning books, etc. They're (generally speaking) enslaved by their bigotry. This goes for all of the USA, but the south has always been the worst offender.

......having limited knowledge on a subject and DRAWING A PARTICULAR CONJECTURE on the subject matter can be considered as the fallacy of CAPTIVE IGNORANCE. For example "BURNING OF BOOKS" was connect here as BURNING OF ALL BOOKS......this is the example of the case of 'having limited knowledge on a subject, selecting a couple of past propositions OR formulating a couple of premises from pool of later date suggestions AND came conjected concussion!!!!! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
