Because it's the greatest game ever made, hands down. 100% . Best time I've ever had with a video game. I'm not even a video gamer and I played it twice to completion.

It’s a fantastic game however without a player based story to keep me invested nor that tiny but constant dopamine hit from “looting” I got bored with it around level 40. Most of my friends lasted a bit longer. When we started running Helldivers difficulty around level 30-33 we got to a point where we were buying ship enhancements and stratagems we didn’t need. Mostly just to prevent hitting the caps but maxed everything out and hit the caps anyway. “What else is there to do?“ was a bizarre question to ask for a live service game less than 2 months from its launch. Felt like I was in end game from the start. Other live service games can generally hold my interest much longer. At a quick glance I know I enjoyed Helldivers more than Outriders however I have 2.5x the amount of hours in Outriders. Now that I’m not playing as much I’m not getting super credits and paying real money for these “premium” Warbonds sure as hell isn’t going to get me to come back, it’s more like a repellent.
@deanfairley72093 ай бұрын
I think the game is still in its infancy to be honest, what we do currently have is enough to keep us going for now. But if you think about other Live Service games, lets say GTA Online, it started out reasonably bare-bones and over the years has turned into a juggernaut with tonnes of content. I do get your point though, at the moment it's difficult to envisage where this game is going to go. I think they will heavily rely on the narrative to keep players invested, just like the did recently with the automatons being irradicated, and then returning with a gigantic counter attack. So i think it's going to become more narrative driven rather than stuff you can unlock driven. A healthy dose of both wouldn't go amiss though

My only concern is how they will maintain the sense of progression long term because many players are reaching the limit of the achievements and it will feel repetitive without something to work towards
@boomerix3 ай бұрын
You know these Animes where you have GameMasters in the background watching the players and the protagonists, throwing challenges at them and controlling the flow of the game? This is the first game where it actually feels like (to me at least) something like that is happening in real life and not just in fiction.
@marxel44443 ай бұрын
I got into the game after the hype had build up already. Its the kind of edgy humor i like. "Geneva Suggestions" "Winners write history" "Cant commit warcrimes if you win", that kinda stuff. Also i LOVE Coop shooters when you have friends to play it with!

whats most chocking to me is that they, in fact, are pulling a fortnite with this game and just have tons and tons of content on backup to keep feeding us stuff as a live service game (Which MANY other game fail at) when they are live service. Every month we get a battlepass with new content, every 2'nd week we're getting new store items, staragems of many kinda such as the quasar and Hmg. And there is SOOOO much stuff, ready to release and leaked that it looks like we have content easily for 5 months to come + an entire new faction soon to drop for us too. Its pure insanity that a company can do this in this day and age, AND let us earn everything via gameplay. I haven't really ever had a ''forever'' game like most people who got League, Dota 2, counter strike, World of warcraft that they keep going back to, pump in hours over and over. But It looks like Helldivers 2 is going to be my game where I just keep going back for years to come.

This game is a true testament that modern AAA game studios fail to provide a satisfying product solely because they keep shooting themselves in the foot with greedy tactics and corporate decisions that cater to their shareholders rather than to their player-base. I bet the executives at Activision have been scratching their heads wondering why Helldivers has become such a massive hit overnight, with overwhelming support and praise from the public, and their newest Call of Duty is, while still commercially successful, being lambasted by practically everyone. Same with Suicide Squad and the likes.

This game is so much fun. Me and my team were doing a string of suicide missions for the challenges and on the last mission we were just about to do the final objective when like 10 bile titans and 70 chargers spawned and took us all down one by one. We all watched as the last surviving team member managed to complete the objective and make it back to the ship by the skin of his teeth... it was really quite impressive to watch :D

Arthur's character development throughout the events of the story is just phenomenal, the moment he just gives in to sister calderon and says "I'm afraid." just hits the gut every time. His death felt like you've lost a huge part of yourself, the story of red dead redemption 2 stands as one of the greatest written stories not just in gaming, but one of the greatest stories ever told.

@John_Matthews27074 ай бұрын
Absolutely. It's one of those games that one should show to people who don't consider video games as an art form. Arthur Morgan is the only character in video games that I connected to as if they're a real, living, breathing human being.
