This song and all Leo Sayer songs take me back to music's greatest era 1970s. Songs had meaning then not like today's garbage.
@RR-is6lp22 күн бұрын
I dunno. There's always meaningful songs, and there's always garbage songs. I've heard both in all genres of music across the decades. Sometimes I'm just not the target market for a song, and I'm totally fine with that. Stuff can be enjoyed by other people, even if I'm not into it.
@Lacesoflove20 күн бұрын
@@RR-is6lp No. We need to go back to the 1970's way of making music. This auto tune explosion since 1997 is ridiculous.

This song was swiped from Ray Parker Jr who wrote it and the music. Slimey stuff went on with some record companys!! How would you like all your royalties and writing credit taken from you on a Number 1 smash hit. This song was everywhere back in the day!!
@Lacesoflove23 күн бұрын
And Ray Parker Jr. was sued by Huey Lewis for Ghostbusters and settled out of court. You don't see Huey Lewis's people writing all over Ray Parker Jr.s song Ghostbusters comment board like you guys are doing. And not only that, Ray Parker Jr. admitted Leo Sayer had nothing to do with what his manager did and Leo offered to help Ray Parker Jr. with new songs because he felt so bad. Let Leo's fans come to his site and enjoy themselves. Many artists were screwed by record companies so Ray Parker's racism comment is bs especially since he intentionally outright stole from Huey Lewis and was sued for it
@Lacesoflove23 күн бұрын
Woah, it's worse than I thought. Look at what Ray Parker Jr. did to Huey Lewis and the News: "No, it was a ripoff. Lewis - a very hot commodity in the 80s - was the first artist approached to do the theme song for Ghostbusters, but he was already attached to Back to the Future, so he declined. When Columbia Pictures hired Ray Parker Jr., they literally instructed him to write something “Huey Lewis-esque". The similarity to “I Want a New Drug” was not lost on Lewis - he subsequently sued Parker and Columbia for copyright infringement; the case was settled out of court, and Lewis was paid an undisclosed sum of money."

Came here to explain to my mum why Bill Mcclintock's mashup of this song with Metallica's "Sad but True" was such utter genius. I'm still not sure she understood. However, this IS the same video footage Bill used in his mashup, so I'm happy to see that.
