I respect Rome and Roman empire as an Indian. I am very interested in learning about history, both of my country and international. Ancient Southern Indian kingdoms like Pandyas, Chalukyas, Cheras had extensive trade relations with Rome. Thousands of Roman coins were excavated in ancient port cities of western and southern india. Most of these trade took place from Egypt and Axum. The Gupta empire which was one of the strongest empires that ruled northen india before the islamic rule had extensive trade relations with Rome. But after the end of the Guptas due to invasions of Alchon Huns from central asia, relations with Rome dwindled. It remained until the end of the Byzantine empire finally ending with the islamic invasions of india.
