As for todays borders “FYRO” Macedonia is the central part of ancient Macedonia and the other parts (are in Bulgaria,little in Albania and much in Greece) where taken from Macedonia in the second balkan war (around 1912),so that’s the first time Greece has any control over Macedonian territory(incresing their territory for 60%).

Until Alexander conquered the Greek citys there was none Greek civ (Sparta,Athens…all have different rullers and different customs) and the Macedonian civ begins from the first king Macedon(he formed the first macedonian civ and from then forward there were kings in macedonian history) way before the greeks even existed.

Much of the language that is speaking in todays Macedonia (the one with FYRO in front of the name) in in a direct corelation with ancient macedoian language…exemple the word “vojnik”-soldier is the same
