Can you place it against a concrete curb and guitter without an expansion joint?

So, it's transported, spread, and compacted like asphalt. Why not just use asphalt, it's easier to work with, and in summer you don't have to worry about it getting away from you.

Should you wet cure a post tensioned slab? Poured in Texas, probably 98 degrees.

Great Video guys! Can Amorfa be added to the truck after the concrete is mixed (ie: at the jobsite) or does it have to go in the drum before the mud is batched.
@ConcreteProtection
@ConcreteProtection 11 ай бұрын
Amorfa should be added into the initial batch water and introduced into the mixer before any admixtures or other constituents. After Amorfa has been introduced into the mixer with the initial batch water, normal concrete batching processes can be followed. We do recommend pretesting to determine the dosing for suitable performance.

When Does Having an Ego Become a Problem? The ego is the desire to enjoy at the expense of others, and the problem with it is precisely in that it makes us think and act at the expense of others. It blocks us from seeing how we are one with all the people of the world, as well as with the still, vegetative and animate parts of nature. Outside of the self-serving perception of reality that our ego gives us, we live in a reality where we are all parts of a single, interconnected and interdependent system. In this system, the ego makes us think and act without considering ourselves as parts of a whole system. Problems and crises proliferate in our world when our egoistic approach to life continues growing, coupled with us becoming increasingly interconnected and interdependent. On the contrary, if we think and act for the benefit of the whole system, where we consider the benefit of others and nature in our every move, then we will enter into balance with nature. When we reach balance with nature, we will experience a major upgrade in life: from a life of increasing problems and crises, to a life of harmony and peace.

I had 10k in concrete poured and it has crazing almost all over. Should I make them redo it?
@ConcreteProtection
@ConcreteProtection 11 ай бұрын
Craze cracking is generally not a structural issue and more an aesthetic issue. Crazing may still occur even when every precaution is taken during placement and finishing.
@bgy1591

@@ConcreteProtection do you think it should be redone by the contractor?
@ConcreteProtection
@ConcreteProtection 11 ай бұрын
@@bgy1591 That is a conversation between you and the contractor. Crazing is not a structural concern so the concrete would be viable for the intended use. The crazing is generally aesthetic issue.

Hello, we have recently changed to type 1L cement and type c flyash. our finishers are having alot of issues with shrinkage cracking in first hours with the flyash mix. strait cement they do not. do youhave any suggestions?
@ConcreteProtection
@ConcreteProtection 11 ай бұрын
We would recommend looking into initial and intermediate curing practices as described in ACI 308 Curing documentation. Wind breaks, monomolecular evaporation retarders, misting, and other methods can help reduce shrinkage cracking. In addition, some concrete fibers are also effective in reduction of plastic shrinkage cracking. Your ready mix concrete supplier should be able to share information on the particular fibers they carry.

Very interested if your type C fly ash is OK with ordinary portland cement? I don't know if there may be a shrinkage reaction between the calcium hydroxide of the type C and the calcium carbonate in 1L? Then try type F fly ash with 1L?

If basement concrete treatment prevents moisture ingress will that significantly decrease basement moisture odors?
@ConcreteProtection
@ConcreteProtection Жыл бұрын
Reducing the amount of water intrusion into any space will reduce moisture odors. Any existing wet areas would need to be corrected as well. Indoor humidity can also create moisture odors as well.

So, what is the solution if you already have dusting occurring?
@ConcreteProtection
@ConcreteProtection Жыл бұрын
Common ways to mitigate concrete dusting on an existing slab is to either apply a densifier (such as a magnesium fluorosilicate) or a concrete sealer. Both ways may require some prep work (potentially grinding the surface of the concrete), before the application of the product.

I just spent a lot of money of a colored concrete front yard. They did a stamp and a border. They had to trowel really hard as the pour was on a hot day. My questions are why is the red concrete now almost white on the stamped areas , not on the boarders ? And is the crazing the contractors fault? And what should be done, because the concrete looks like it’s a faded 35 year old slab and the slate stamp looks like crap bc it now has crazing/scaling everywhere? Thank you.

Unfortunately, there could be several reasons that the area looks that way. Without inspecting the concrete, the answers would be hypothetical and may not provide the best information for you. Inspecting the concrete can provide guidance on what happened and how to potentially correct the issues that you are having. Without knowing the root cause of the discoloration, trying to give a fix is difficult. If you would like, reach out to [email protected] and we may be able to assist you further.

Questionn? What if excess water added exceeding water cement ratio 0.40 in 12m3 with total concrete for of 60m3. Will it be cured and not effect the whole structure? If it effects the structure what are the remedies other than curing compound?
@ConcreteProtection
@ConcreteProtection Жыл бұрын
Any water added to the concrete that exceeds the water to cementitious ratio will affect the concrete. Concrete will cure and if cured properly, according to ACI 308 and other committee guidelines, gives the best opportunity for the concrete to reach its full potential. Exceeding the water to cementitious ratio can affect the concrete in a detrimental way, an engineer should be consulted to determine if the concrete has been negatively affected. Curing compounds are one aspect of the curing process and is not a remedy for exceeding the water to cementitious ratio.

Hello, we had a cement driveway poured about a month ago and there are some dark spots we want to fix, we were told from one source an acid wash may open up the cement pours and a different person told us it was better to use vinegar because it is less harsh and wouldnt potentially ruin the cement further like acid would but it would take longer to work, how can we fix those moisture spots

Thanks guys for stating the fact Roman cement is the original hydraulic cement in addition to concrete and Egyptian cement is gypsum which is water soluble. Nevertheless, awareness is spreading about the fact Roman cement has proven more durable than so-called Portland cement. A guy filed a British patent for an inferior variant of something already known for centuries and subsequently gained false credit for "invention". It should also be noted that Latins never stopped making or using cement from the Roman era as Spanish colonial era structures in the Americas still feature their original hydraulic cement predating "Portland" cement. English history needs to be corrected
