Unless those panels are far-infrared, you gotta be closer than most of those images show to get real benefit. The “red light” being emitted isn’t enough. The intensity is adjusted by proximity, and drops off quickly beyond 6” away from

How is this different than red light “laser”?
@LightTherapyatHome
@LightTherapyatHome Ай бұрын
Laser has very focused light and could be dangerous to your eyes. LED has less focused light. Laser has also very narrow wavelength whilst LED broader spectrum, which actually could be more beneficial. Is you have questions about specific products, perhaps you can ask the producer for more details. I hope it helps.

Brilliant device. There is no device I know of that targets the back and sides of the throat at the same time. This one comes close. For the back of the neck, a small pad will work well, and is fairly comfortable. For the sides of the throat (that pesky thing behind the ears down to the neck, not sure what it's called), most pads are too big. I use 5x12 small pads with neoprene or plastic layer in front of the leds. But they don't last long. They don't tolerate bending, and especially diagonal bending. I have a mini panel similar to yours. It's great for the face. Right on top of the skin, though mine gets really hot. Though the heat also helps if you tolerate it. I saw there are neck pillows online with red light. I have not tried them. Looks like they go across three sides of the throat (possibly. It's curved, so don't know how far it stretches on the sides), but not down to the shoulder. Oh, saw one more type (turquoise) all over youtube. Just down the center of the back portion. I don't see the point of that one. I like yours better, though I'll continue using my pads until I find something that fits all over that area. Something contoured and sewn to fit and treat neck, sides, top of shoulders with no light gaps. Now THAT would be fantastic!

Table lamp is more for making light in the room that resembles sunset 🌇, not really for skin therapy, as the light output is not that strong I think. It's to help your body produce melatonin, the sleeping hormone. If you have a light panel it is much brighter and definitely I would use goggles when the light shines directly in my eyes. If you plan to use it for face skin therapy I personally would use goggles as my eyes don't tolerate bright light well. Definitely don't look at the light with open eyes! I hope it helps. Enjoy RLT at home!

I have a large MitoRedLight panel and I just had a total knee replacement , does the red light therapy heat up the metal knee implant ? Is it safe to use on my knee ?
@LightTherapyatHome
@LightTherapyatHome 2 ай бұрын
Sorry I don't have this information. Check directly with Mito. The wavelengths those lights use do not heat tissue like heat lamps do. Perhaps the physiotherapist in your clinic will know as they studied using red light therapy for injuries recovery. If I was in your position I would try doing short 5 min sessions and see how I felt afterwards, but I can't recommend as the results are unknown. If you do, I can't take any responsibility for the results. I wish you speedy recovery!

My wife sits about 18-20" away from the light. Not too close. Takes off shirt so the light goes on face and on neck and shoulders. She likes 100% power for 5min all wavelengths. Remember to put goggles on. For skin 5 min should be enough but you can go as far as 10min per area as it is usually recommended. Enjoy!

Are these panels better than just a face mask if I’m basically wanting one for face?

Panels give probably 10x more light intensity so you can do session within minutes for skin therapy. They are also more versatile and you can use them on strained ankle joint or sore muscles all over body. Mask usually have holes for eyes, so your skin on and around eyes will not get much benefit.

Not all old technology is bad. After EMP blast or large solar flare - whichever sooner, all your high tech gadgets will stop working. Only old cars and radios will work. Working in occupational therapy for years, I know that many older people struggle to see modern panels due to small text and fingers with arthritis can struggle with small buttons. Soon the price of fuel will make you think about having a horse 🐴 as it would probably be cheaper!

Non contact red light devices deliver benefits systemically by irradiating the free mitochondria in the blood and delivering the benefits throughout the body. Standing 6 inches away from the device does not increase penetration as most of the light is reflected away by the skin. Standing that close just increases the intensity that initially reaches the skin. The human body is designed to absorb red and near infrared light (600 nm - 900 nm) at the intensity that that range of wavelengths are found in sunlight, which approximately 42 mW/cm^2 maximum. Anything much higher is unnatural and our skin wasn’t designed to take.
@LightTherapyatHome
@LightTherapyatHome 3 ай бұрын
Thanks for sharing your point of view. Surely we can agree that standing 6" away exposes your skin to more light than standing 12" away or further. I would like to see the source of your very scientific opinion, maybe share a link please. How much light actually bounces off the skin? Red light therapy is relatively new therapy and new discoveries are made each year. Thanks for your input.

Clothes will block the light so you need to do it on bare skin. To get results you need minimal dose of light reaching the body, dose= light intensity x session duration

With Mito light you receive 2 goggles, one translucent and one not. You can use whichever you prefer. Goggles are used mostly when doing therapy closely to your eyes or where the light shines directly into your eyes. When I do therapy on my knees I don't put my goggles. Some people are okay without goggles especially when far away from the light and want the skin around the eyes to get less wrinkles. Everybody is different.

Hello! I was reading some of the comments in hopes I’ll find someone that reports some of the symptoms I developed from sitting too close to the light. I initially thought I’m developing a rash unrelated to my red light panel, but after two and a half months of consistent use according to the instructions, I realized my issues aren’t a rash but a burn, radiation burn which looks pretty bad. It’s currently improving as a result of stopping the sessions. So I’m trying to raise awareness to the possibility of that happening if you’re sitting too close and use both red light and infrared. My burn is on my neck and chest, thankfully not on my face.

Thank you for sharing your experience. It would be helpful for others to know how close you were using the lights and if you have any medical condition or take a medication that might cause this kind of skin reaction. Are you allergic to some things or you are in tip top health? I am aware that some medication can affect how we react to light. Which brand of light panel did you use? No name panels from AliExpress or Amazon might not be built to meet safe EMF specifications.
