There are lots of myths attached to the Alamo. They are myths even though I do not downplay their roles. However, no one speaks about the contributions and sacrifices of Tejanos in this fight against the Mexicans. This in and of itself is a travesty. Texas would not be Texas without the Tejanos and Tennesseans and other parties involved. This was not a white against brown clash! Anglos were not the righteous party in this fight. The "Anglos" won. And personally I'm glad they did.

The funny part about Gibson is that despite the crap Bragg laid on him, Gibson was eventually promoted to Brigadier General.

It’s not. Pensacola predates St. Augustine by 6 years. My wife is from there and I’m from Pensacola and we have this argument all the time 😭 we did the research and Pensacola is older 😅 gotta change the lies

Who attacked whom initially? And whom decided to secede over the fact that slavery was about to be banned? Yup the confederates is the answer to both of these questions.

@@userunknown7675 its not even worth arguing with them, you're just wasting your breath. You're absolutely right, and have all of the history to back you up. But you cannot argue with stupid, they'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience

Can I ask a request, please? In Madison County, va. Is the site of Jack's Shop battle. Happened a month after Gettysburg. When JEB Stuart was able to stop a union attack on the rear of RE Lee in Orange CH.

It should be noted: Santa Anna wasn't just captured in a marsh. He was captured with several other prisoners of war. He was thought to be just another prisoner but was saluted by some of his men, upone seeing him. This gave him away.

@@userunknown7675 I know who I mean and what I mean. I guess it was okay when the New England states along with the southern states seceded from the British Empire because of an unresponsive and fall removed government that overtaxed and ill treated its subjects? The silence seceded for the same principles. The leftist Lincoln regime, who won on a plurality of 32% of the vote, didn't give one damn for the blacks bond or free. It was all about a power struggle. What America remain a free Republic and union of sovereign States or would it be consolidated into an empire? Fort Sumter should have been turned over to South Carolina like the rest of the forts throughout the south. Lincoln used fort Sumter as a pretext to begin a war of conquest. Without the Southern States and it's harbors that generated the excise import and export taxes the federal government revenues would have been reduced by 2/3. Lincoln said in his inaugural address nothing about slavery so much but he did say that he would use whatever force look like was necessary to collect the revenues from those states that he said were in rebellion. How can a sovereign state be in rebellion? The whole reason it took so long for King George III's government to conclude peace with us after we won our war of secession from the British Empire in 17 81 is because a separate piece had to be concluded with each sovereign state. We were then a confederacy under articles of Confederation. The US Constitution did not grant any rights but only recognize god-given rights common to all the states and it was a limit upon the federal government that was created by the states and not the other way around as Lincoln contended. He could have freed all of the slaves in the border States and in the northern states if he wanted to. But as always the black folks are nothing but pawns for those who pretend to be their friends
