Mesmerizing… I’m speechless… first Path Metheny played this song with guitar, and now this piano version… is more than my capability to enjoy…

Since I’m a trained musician….I notice the subtle differences in this from the original Beatles version. Most people would just hear Paul wailing on but not my special ears…..

Really really nice rendition. I always get the impression from most of the Beatles music that they were writing just the bare bones, the skeleton, of the work, and leaving it to people like you to expand and finish the ideas.

Wow, wow, wow... haunting. Brings one face to face with the great abyss. Mercy. Respect. This may be the single best piano performance I've ever witnessed. I keep coming back to it.

Here's one of the first--and still one of the best--jazz-oriented versions of this song. Recorded in 1968. Vocal by Grady Tate (1932-2017) and arrangement by Gary McFarland (1933-1971): kzfaq.info/get/bejne/h7F9bLaSvdu2nqc.html

It's very beautiful. Saw her play once, at the Montreal Bistro (in Toronto), and still miss her distinctive sound and sensibility. There isn't enough of her on video, to judge by the slim pickings on KZfaq.

A partir de ese momento, sobre el minuto 5, se convierte en pura creación. Deja de ser jazz o pop, o clásica, y es sólo música en toda su pureza. Pura belleza.

Brad is the closest thing to Keith Jarrett's aproach to the sound and the depth of improvisation. Although different in style, they share an unnamed quality that unites them.

I would say I'm more of a flashy Hiromi guy than a Mehldau guy. But it's funny the middle part of this piece is very similar to the hypnotic stuff Hiromi might do, on "Haze" for example. But, uh, Brad does it better. Maybe I'm becoming a fan.
