Yes, there are M70 speakers in this boombox, but the amp hasn't enough power to get higher volumes... you can try to find a universum 16000 and swap those speakers (-:

@@CoockieClassiCKeks Yes if my thoughts are correct most JVC speakers are 6ohm, where as most boomboxes are 3.2ohm or 4ohm max. i was thinking of going to a car audio shop and asking them when they fit new audio set ups in cars, what do they do with all the old standard car woofers, i'm sure they store them all in the back, i could make an offer on a bunch of them as a job lot, most are either 4 inch 4ohm, 5 inch 4ohm or 5inch 4ohm, they'd be great in a boombox. A lot of boomboxes have great amps, it's just the poor Quality speakers they use that let them down

@@80s_kid. Hmm, you can try with car speakers, but mostly they need more than 20 watts and not as efficient as boombox speakers. Also the sound is more in a low frequency range (bass). Boombox speakers are made to be as loud as possible, mostly... Try to find an old hitachi 3D80, or the recommended universum speakers. Ive tried a lit with my GF 777, not perfect chassis, oder they are to big, the membrane has to be more flat, not so deep like hifi Speakers. Thoes radios are made like a little PA system with open wall, not a closet box (hifi). Thats what i learned in the last 15 years (-:

it's good that you changed the woofers but still made it looked like they were original. Sharp woofers overall are pretty poor Quality, Years ago i used to change them but now i'm older (54) i just leave them original because sound isn't as important anymore.

I have THIS GF777 for more than 10 years (it was my first big boombox) and those original woofers were bad, so ive tried a lot with other ones. Those woofers came from a hitach 3D80 and they are really nice (-: Thanks for your comment. The quality of all sharps was great, but right, the speakers are mostly not the best. Also, the woofers in those big radios got stiff after all the years...

Really nice collection. if they were mine I would have to be desitute to sell them. The GF1000 goes for serious money at $3000 plus now so its always going to be valuble. I am going for a GF777 as it was the boombox i wanted 40 odd years ago. Thanks for showing them

Hallo, habe jetzt auch angefangen meinen 777 von innen zu reinigen. Leider ist mir gleich zu Anfang aufgefallen, das von den (glaube) 9 langen Schrauben die die Rückwand halten, bei 5 das Innengewinde im Arsch ist. Schrauben überdrehen. 😞 Hast Du eventuell eine Lösung wie ich diese Innengewinde Reparieren kann? Habe schon in einschlägigen Foren gepostet, das Problem haben wohl viele Leute, aber auch in den Foren gibt es keine richtige Lösung.

Moin moin, die originalen Schrauben sind glaub ich 70mm lang und haben einen Durchmesser von 4.0 mm. Habe auf Ebay und auch bei Lokalen Schraubenhändlern welche gefunden mit 70 bis 90mm länge (die oberen 3 sollten etwas länger sein (kürzen kann man immer). Nun, wichtig ist der Durchmesser: Frag/suche nach Blechschrauben mit. 4,2 bis etwa 4,5 mm Dicke- wenn du nur 4,5 mm bekommst, schraube sie vorsichtig in den Steg, sonst bricht dieser evtl. Zur not kann ich dir auch welce schicken, dann passt auch der Schraubenkopf... hab mich etwas eingedeckt damit (-: Die Schrauben, welche tiefer in die Rückwand fallen, sind 70mm lang, die oberen drei, bzw die am Griff darf etwa 10mm länger sein, hier ist auch die meiste last. Bei mir funktionierts seit Jahren am gleichen Gerät, das ich oft herum trage (-: PS: Check auch, ob der Schraubenkopf, hier ein Linsenkopf, nicht zu groß, oder zu klein ist) Klingt komplizierter als es in wirklichkeit ist. God i want a GF 1000 bad, i have a GF 999 and i love it but man does the 1000 have the perfect look! I've also heard that t=he 1000 sounds slightly better than the rest is that true?

Hello Yes the gf 1000 is the best of the sharp GF series, but the speaker are making the sound. There ratet at 3,2 ohm and all the others at 4, thats the reason for a little more power. You can try to find white speakers out of a gf 8787 and try it. My older verson of my GF777 got two of them and it was a better sound. The 999 and GF1000 are technically identical, except for the speakers. Try it, if you want (-:

Ich meine das waren 899€, zumindest bis etwa 2016, die Maschine ist etwa von 2010 und ist eher für eine einfachere Haushalte gedacht... ALlerdings eine der wenigen mit komplett planer Vorderseite und dem verchromten Bullauge. Bei vielen Modellen ist das Bedinpanel abgeschrägt, oder steht teilweise etwa 2 cm vor. Es gab sie als WDA100/101 und 200/201. Mit etwas glück auch als Modell mit 4 Ziffern zu finden, hier aber oft als Waschtrockner (-: Auf den Kleinanzeigen wurde/wird sie zwischen 150 und 300€ privat angeboten, vom Händler ab ca 300€ Jetzt fühle ich mich wie ein Nerd

@@CoockieClassiCKeks Vielen Dank für die ausführliche Antwort! Ich glaube jedoch, dass die Maschine sogar etwas neuer ist. Ich habe bei Miele in der Ersatzteilsuche nachgesehen. Dort wurde die WDA201 angeblich vom 06.2015 - 12.2017 gebaut. Es wurde aber wohl tatsächlich ein einfacherer Motor verbaut im Vergleich zu anderen Maschinen. Aber trotzdem finde ich die Ausstattung der Maschine sehr ordentlich.

@@reinhardgoner2058 Ja, die Maschine soll etwas lauter sein, bzw, sie ist etwas lauter was mich allerdings nicht wirklich stört. Bestimmt gibt es sogar Brushles- Motoren, welche in dieser Maschine funktionieren... Wenn man ein bisschen die Programme durch geht, wäscht die Maschine in etwa 1,5 Stunden super. Das normale 40 Grad Programm, kurz und Wasser Plus. Dürfte auch für die Wäsche besser sein, wenn sie nicht 2 Stunden in der gleichen Suppe umher gedreht wird (-:

@@reinhardgoner2058 Habe eine W5823 aus 2010 und bei der hört man den Motor gar nicht - das hier gehörte Geräusch ähnelt in der Tat eher meiner vorherigen W 723 Electronic, eine WaMa mit noch elektromechanischer Programmsteuerung / Programmablauf-Zeiger (Programmwahl hingegen mit beidseitig drehbarem Wähler [das war wohl seinerzeit das "elekttronische" an diesem 99 kg-Monster]) aus dem mittleren Paläozän 🤣

It's crazy how technology works. I have always wanted one of these growing up in the 1980s.I couldn't afford the "big boys" when mowing lawns, but had a few smaller radios. Walking into our local electronics stores as a young lad, I drooled over the boombox section and in the large speaker demo rooms. I always wanted the (older) Cewin Vega 15" floor standing speakers. Oh, how sexy those looked. Today, unfortunately most Bluetooth speakers sound worlds better than any boombox from the 1980s. Same goes for the speakers, why get giant outdated floor standing speakers, when you can get much smaller speakers with a separate 12"-15" sub, with better crossovers, amps, drivers, and tuned enclosures that sound amazing. The kid in me will never die, and I will always have a soft spot for yesterdays gold gems (such as these getto-blasters), but times have changed. It took a long, long time for me to embrace the fact that these times are gone (sadly) and that digital has walked right past analog audio. With all that said, I do wish manufacturers started making boomboxes with modern electronics. Would they sell? It depends on what is incorporated into them. If they made them with modern Bluetooth technology (current is BT5.3) Give them at least 1TB of RAM so you can put "most of your music" on them. Expand ability for future tech Latest driver's for outstanding sound reproduction. Think about how the JBL Bluetooth boombox series sounds (1-2 and 3). Look, oh the look. You have got to make the HQ drivers with chrome dust caps. Nothing looks better!! Make the AM/FM radio with top tier tech. Give AM/MW a twin coil 200mm ferrite antenna (tunable) Give FM the best sensitivity and selectivity out of the latest DSP chip, like what is in the Eton field, with the lowest noise floor possible.

Hello, There are M90 bluetooth- speaers out from newwaavetoys newwavetoys.com/products/m90-mini-blaster Those little speakers have a nice decent sound and FM Radio. In my lifetime, i havent seen an 80th boombox in a shop. A friend was the reason to collect more and more and my favorites are those big GF's... but ive never paid more than ~ 400$ for each, because i had to repair them. AND THIS is the reason, or the soul for me to collect... its a little passion to repair a non working radio and after a lot of work, it plays musik like a new radio <3

How did it compare to the Sanyo 920? Looked like the sanyo had to have its volume set higher just to reach the same level as the Hitachi?

I think, the sanyo has a more decent sound but the hitachi makes more action for its size. The volume- level on those knobs (1 to 10) does not mean the real volume (-: For me, the hitachi makes a better performance.

Guten Abend, ich finde ihre Videos Klasse. Vielen Dank dafür. Ich habe noch eine Frage und zwar habe ich einen Universum supersound mit einer kaputten Lautsprechersicke. Er hört sich eigentlich noch normal an aber es sieht nicht gesund aus. Kann man sowas reparieren lassen? Und wenn ja, muss man dann gleich beide Lautsprecher mitgeben, damit beide die selbe Sicke haben? Ich kenne mich mit Ghettoblastern noch nicht so gut aus

Moin moin und vielen Dank <3 Hast du den Supersound 16000? Er hat 16,5 cm Lautsprecher und Papiersicken. Diese ließen sich theoretisch ersetzten, übersteigt aber warscheinlich den Kaufpreis. Dennoch ist es kein großes Ding passende Ersatzlautsprecher ein zu bauen. 16,5 cm ist ein weit verbreitetes Maß, aber warscheinlich möchtest du den originalen Klang (der 16000 klingt schon echt fein) bei behalten. Ist das Gerät schon offen? Versuch das gleiche Gerät als Defekt zu kaufen und tausche von diesem die Lautsprecher (sofern in ordnung), hier kannst du auch nur einen Lautsprecher tauschen, zwei unterschiedliche LS (mit unterschiedlichen Sicken) würde ich nicht verbauen, also wenn, dann besser beide (-:

Als Schüler mag man sich eben nichts viel größeres leisten. Ich finde den sound auch garnicht schlecht aber er geht leider nicht so laut wie ich es gern hätt. Konnte ihn aber auch nur über den Phono eingang testen. Kassetten deck geht zwar aber meine Aufnahmen von anderen Geräten hören sich schrecklich an und seine eigenen Aufnahmen sind nur auf der linken Seite zu hören.

@@louisreinhard7047 Dieser Blaster ist einer der letzten relativ günstigen Geräte mit gutem Klang und richtig aufgestellt ist er auch recht laut. Insgesamt ist das Gerät auch Servicefreundlich, sei aber vorsichtig mit den Steckern und Kabeln wenn du ihn öffnest (-: Hier noch ein paar Fragen und Tipps zum Kassettenlaufwerk: Ist der Tonkopf mit samt der Andruckrolle soweit gereiningt? Nimm das Gerät vom Strom und betätige ca 20- 30 mal den ``Radio- Tape-Off´´ Schalter... DANN: Leg ne bespielbare Kassette ein und auch ca 20 mal ``Aufnahme- Stop´´ drücken. Im Gerät ist ein laaaaaaanger Schalter mit vielen Kontakten, welche einfach mal wieder bewegt werden müssen (-: Evtl liegts auch am Din Stecker, also auch diesen 5- 10 mal aus und wieder ein stecken. (Ebenfalls mit nem Kopfhörerstecker die beiden Mic Anschlüsse penetrieren) Für Phono gibts zudem kleine Wandler, sodass ein Angeschlossenes Gerät nicht mehr ``bass lastig´´ klingt Hört sich erstmal nach viel Aufwand an, so können aber einige Probleme gelöst werden ohne den Kasten zu öffnen.

Hmm, i think the m 70 has a little more decent trebbles and is easyer to find on ebay. But i love the looking of this m920 and also that great working tape deck. I have a 9994, but i need time to service it.
