It's because domestic violence can easily CAUSE poverty. Isolating the woman and keeping her from working, kills her independence, and cuts their income in half. Then every time he puts her in the hospital it's another $10-50K in hospital bills. Court expenses, custody court... another $20-50k easy. It can easily bankrupt people...

Its really hard turning in your abuser , when you know in their right mind they would never hurt you. Meth made him do it, its hard being a Christian cause were trained to forgive. Not sure if i will find the strength to testify. It 3 days now after im in fla and my eye is swelling up ? Days later weird.

My abuser was stalking me. I had a male friend pick me up. I saw him and he followed us. Stupidly I came home thinking I could deescalate the matter. Now I'm sitting here with a broken rib and marks on my throat from him putting me in a chokehold. This time I gave the video footage to the police. At this point I'd rather be dead than abused again.

I do not see the resources for the academic articles that the speaker was going to provided (mentioned right near the end of the interview). Where are they posted?
i found this happening to me, i started forgetting a lot about the relationship. I then started to keep notes in my phone of the hurtful things he had done and then when things got worse I began writing a letter I wasn't going to send to him about the very major things he had done to me. I left him a while ago I still read it to remind myself why I don't miss him

Judging by the comments most men ARE violent abusers...when you survive domestic abuse it's hard to belive there are "good" men in the world. For most of us "good men" are a myth we hear women talk about all the time. Laura Richards wanted a domestic abusers register and men decided to NOT do it. This seems to indicate that most men are NOT good

I just got out of an abusive situation where my ex-partner used coercive control. So many of the methods you listed were used by him. I had no privacy, he tried to isolate me from family and friends, he used cameras in the house to spy on me, tried to convince to take nudes (I didn’t because I had a feeling he would use it for revenge), wanted to always see my phone, made me share my location, etc. He said that if I didn’t have anything to hide, I should be ok with it all. I’m glad I’m out.

On the topic of unfounded CPS cases, some abusive fathers weaponized CPS just like they do the court. Repeated reports and investigations will be called to try and establish a paper trail and wear down the mother. My abuser called CPS once because I had my son get the free school lunch instead of a Lunchable.

This happened to me while serving in the military and it was all swept under the rug. Maybe they have changed, but I doubt it. If I had to do over again I would report to the local police and not military police. I was pretty much made fun of by everyone. He was not punished and went on to strangle another female soldier and still walks free today. Insanity.

☝️ Y’all forgot the whole topic of abusive stepparents and how the risk to kids of homocide is way higher by a step parent than a biological parent. ☝️ Step parents trying to replace biological parent and making disparaging remarks about parent. ☝️ LETS TALK TIPS ON HOW TO PROTECT OUR KIDS TRULY AND ACTUALLY BC MY PROBLEM IS THAT ALL THE THJNGS MY DAUGHTER HAS TOLD ME IN CONFIDENCE SHE IS ALSO TERRIFIED OF THE STEP MOM AND HER DAD FINDING OUT SHE “TOLD ON THEM” IUT IF FEAR OF PUNISHEMENT AND CONSEQUENCES TO HER THAT SHE IS GUARANTEED TO FACE ONCE SHES BACK HOME. This is the worst! The court process is so long and there is not a single REAL organization that actually protects children by believing them ahead of time- like before the child has to tell the whole truth and testify in court or to a judge and all that other crap. It’s unfortunate that there isn’t a safe place at all for children to go and say: I don’t feel safe at home and I need help right now. And then the help starts from the moment they speak those words even before they go through all the detailed allegations of harm and abuse. imagine what that would do for our youth and how it would empower them to advocate for themselves.

the one thing i seriously love about this guy’s book is that he DOESNT BLAME THE MOTHER! i am a child of an abusive relationship, both physical and mental, and everyone always blames my mom! but it’s not her fault, she did the best she could, i think. everyone always says “she let him put his hands on her kids,” and then assigns all the blame to her, ignoring that he’s the one who hit them in the first place. it’s so difficult to leave. i sympathise so much with all women and mothers who have experienced/ are experiencing domestic violence.
@RobynRossReporting3 ай бұрын
Until a certain point Ibelieved that they needed to be educated on domestic violence specifically cluster b personality disorders. I stood with Anna when she was trying to get the resolution past back in 2017. Which is now SB 331 Piques law which will never help as many children and mothers as we could if we just help these accountable. It also won’t help the ones still suffering now or have recently been taken from the protective mother who was coerced into reunification therapy and the kind that they made me present to the to go to, and forced back into the hands of our abuser. And all of these mental health professionals know exactly what they are doing, too guess what I recorded all of our sessions and conversations of the clinic with those mental health professionals as well, right of mine was taken away willingly and joyfully because these sick individuals working together love to see people suffer and besides, it’s their livelihood.
@RobynRossReporting3 ай бұрын
my question for those all in this video do you still believe this? What do you now side with the fact that the family court system is not under educated and is 100% corrupt? 🙏🏼💜
@RobynRossReporting3 ай бұрын
something else that I have learned is how corrupt CPS is I mean they were always known to be the ones you never wanna call however, it’s worse. They (along with family court) oh the biggest child 🚦 in our nation and get $40,000 for every trial, they take away from the parents and then not just taking them away and custody cases. They’re taking them away from that that love each other and their children or babies from hospitals.

@domesticsheltersorg putting in any more laws into place is all going to be worse for DV in court my judge used this against me. And I know this was filmed two years ago, and I don’t know where your stance is now however we all know now who want to make the change that they know exactly what they are doing and that it is designed to harm mothers and her children. that they are operating illegally and they only way to stop. It is to file massive amount of federal lawsuits and bring National attention is billboards in every single city across 🇺🇸 not to mention a new focus from every advocate on just holding all of these judicial monsters and everybody else, including our exes and everybody else that co-conspires with them ACCOUNTABLE not only financially, but also with prosecution- which would include everybody who touches the case and harms and targets the protective mother And subsequently her children.

It's too bad the question wasn't answered regarding DV Victims finding Attys who understand they've been totally decimated & have zero fiscal resources so then in fact when law enforcement & DAs fail to recognize, fail to enforce, or aren't at all educated or seasoned; victims are abandoned and end up trying to defend themselves in a no win losing battle. Without advocates who "know" someone that will listen & engage the appropriate points of contact; victims remain oppressed & endangered. Stuck in a bureaucratic black hole. Perpetrators remain emboldened. Law Enforcement remains complacent, DAs remain stealth.

My ex wont stop ringing my family obsessively even my counsellor. Nearly broke collarbone 2 years of emotional and financial abuse followed. Hed ring 10 times if i was on a call . He rang my counsellor repeatedly. Had a blank stare. Never smiled with his eyes. Constantly criticised went through facebook feed. Rang and badgered them about their mental health. He was about to hit again. I do have anorexia but i did not deserve the way i was treated. The counsellor had to block him allong with my brother. Tried to call of his mothers phone today just shy a month from the break up. I think he is unhinged. I do not want to be with him anymore and i dont have to. I will look into advocacy thing and see about the guards should he show up. I do think he could kill. Hes not right.
