I have never had any probs understanding any American accents, and they certainly don't have as many accents as the British Isles. Plus the UK has regional dialects aswell as accents. And no, I am not daft!

Why on earth do you need subtitles they are speaking English ! The Birmingham accent is not that difficult to understand. We English don't need subtitles to watch American TV no matter what accents you guys use

Of course you can understand most american media😂 and there's so many different accents you wouldn't understand in america, most people don't hear a Birmingham accent often so they might not catch certain things. And the reason they added subtitles is because its a reaction mashup you might not be able to hear the audio properly 😂 are you daft?

I somehow binged this show in like 5hrs and it was honestly better than I was expecting. I was extremely reluctant to watch due to the bullying and how graphic I 'd heard it was, but man, this show honestly handles it all fairly well and the acting is PHENOMENAL!!

I think a lot of people these days seem to watch shows (especally adaptations) wit the sole purpose of critiquing them. That kid of attitude can only lead to nitpicking. Watc the show to enjoy the show. Sure, you'll find some parts that are not good, and others that are great. Watch the show to find faults, and faults are all you'll find.
