There is another version of this song done by Studio 1 around 1966/67. I feel is a superior cover than ANY of the Wailers covers of this original Impressions composition but rarely heard or played. I wonder if any1 can remember which vocalist(s) did that recording??

How do you know what the sign means if there are no words? The one who created the sign can only tell what it means. The sign cannot be deciphered without the creator.

Robin is correct @ 1:50 Eurocentric been trying to uncover history for themselves. And, thinking they can duplicate ancient Kemet without morals. Eurocentric from the very beginning of time have been.

It's a little misinformation, Robin. Chancellor Williams discovered this back in the 1920s, but Black Wall Street developed together with other black-owned 50 communities around the country. However, that terrorist group developed with the help of the US government (KKK) and bombed and burned down black towns all over the US.

Again, Robin did a great job but he doesn't get the whole story. (1:10) The Nubians, and they still have some Black Egyptians in Egypt a small percentage. Most moved down to Nubain and East and West Africa. Several people have DNA from Pharaoh Ramses lll in UK an US were black Africans.

Why continuously use the word negro? I know the true meaning of this Portuguese word is just black but for many Africans people it is a distasteful term.

Psalm 82 has to be understood from a place of context and not the isolation of one verse. God has taken his place in the divine council; in the midst of the gods he holds judgment. Three groups identified in Hebrew for God: Elohim (the One that stands to judge) the El (what the congregation belongs to), and the Elohim (the ones who are judged). Translation: God stands in the congregation of God to judge the gods. The question is raised: why is God judging these gods? Read verses 2 - 5: 2 “How long will you judge unjustly
and show partiality to the wicked? Selah God is speaking to these gods saying how long will you judge unjustly and accept the wicked to prosper?! 3 Give justice to the weak and the fatherless; maintain the right of the afflicted and the destitute. These gods should be defending the poor and the fatherless, and maintain justice to the afflicted and needy but they were not. 4 Rescue the weak and the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked.” 5 They have neither knowledge nor understanding (they don’t know or even realize), they walk about in darkness; all the foundations of the earth are shaken. This is the reason why God is going to judge and destroy these gods. Because they are accepting and helping wicked people to prosper, don’t care for the poor and fatherless, or maintain justice! 6 I said, “You are gods, sons of the Most High, all of you; 7 nevertheless, like men (Hebrew for Adam, the first man, or mankind) you shall die, and fall like any prince.” Adam was created in the image of God and given dominion over all creation and to rule on God’s behalf as His representative. So in a sense Adam was a god because he was the expressed embodiment of God in the garden. He bore the image of God, but he too died because of sin. And like Adam they will die. They all stand in the place of God, representing God, and ruling on God’s behalf. But they’re doing this unjustly.

They deciphered the medu neter and a whole bunch of papyruses, yet still incorrectly call the land and people Egypt and Egyptians. Where they do that at? Kemet, although it's a name used for the land, many scholars say it's not the official name of the country. Then what's the official name of the country and the people, and stop calling them what they didn't call themselves and that is Egyptians. What type of scholars are y'all!

Quite knowledgeable individuals. I may take issue with some of the biblical explanations. It seemed to be a rush to explain away parts of the Bible. Not all pharaohs are yet known nor have their tombs been discovered. It has also been said that the Jews were a very small nomadic clan and may have been too small to be of any significance to a major pharaoh. Saudi Arabia wasn't named until 1931, so it was impossible for them to cross over into Saudi Arabia. Freedom to them was crossing over away from their enemies before roaming for many years trying to find the true Promised Land, which was North into Palestine and Israel. Most stories are written many years after an incident happened. Even today, truth and partial truths are added to our history depending on who writes the story.

,i was born in nassau, bahamas in 1974,my name is brian schroeter my father is a jamaican my mother a bahamian.as a youth i remember my daddy telling me our last name come from germany and we are germans i heard nuttin about africa from him and national geographic only used to show africans starving and dying on the tell-lie-vision and iremember we as youths use to laugh at them like who have the biggest head and who isthe boniest and looking back i hate myself for doing that but it is pure ignorance and whitewashed from that box we was viewing.the most I learned about MAMA AFRICA WAS WHEN I WAS in prison through a rasta man named BOBO PHEE i was on death row sentenced to hang,a death warrant was read to me and a date set for me to get hanged along with 2 others I was concerned with.I did 11years on death row in a cell by myself.I been through all of that religious transition and I learned about Marcus Mosiah garvey, sellasie i and Malcolm X and I always said to myself I can only imagine how different my life would have been if I was taught about these gods.

Thank you for your testimony,. Indeed babylon did one hell of a slam job on our minds. We need not be ashamed of anything because we were conditioned to hate and disrespect ourselves. To come out on the other side is really a revolutionary act. I pray that all is going well in your life. You managed to save yourself which is more than many can say. This is why we need Black owned educational establishments to reverse the damage and enshrine in us self love. Thanks again for sharing and passing thru.Strong Up
