This is really neat thanks for sharing. These came out when I was much younger and playing with 450mm quads, seeing these were like watching a spaceship. Do you still do filming? Got my 107 and never really used it but curious to check back in to the industry and see if it’s viable as a career

Back in the old days it was a 333 exemption and you had to be a pilot. Not really doing any filming these days. But it was fun till everyone and their momma was a pro. The tech was so good that it didnt really take a pilot or R/C pilot to fly them. It was fun and did some big movies but after Fox Films was lowering my contracted offers every movie I knew it was time to sell out. I got almost twice what I paid for my Freefly Rig and other gear. The S1000 with the A2 was really a POS in a lot of ways so I really couldnt sell it. The question was is it a viable business? Im not sure due to all the turnkey products out there for the various markets. Drones have been very oversold.

Im not really having any gelcoat issues that I can see. Its actually in pretty good condition considering the age. I can say that I I used marine sealant for the gap between the fuel area and body. No more leaks!

Thx for vid. So I want a toilet that has full oval or at least regular dimensions if it round to switch out the seat to household bidet that a must because I have GI problems & poop a lot. So I do my own plumbing/home builder and want the scoop on is the 320 (no longer in the Dometic Amazon store but available from retailers/liquidators) as good a way to go with the RTV fix or who has a better oval full bowl flush? People comment there’s problems with all of them so is this the only big issue w/these models? And so is it (thanks to you btw!!!) basically solved via RTV impregnated gasket (is the best way to go and is better than the silicone sealant mentioned in a previous vid?). I’m on a tight timeline plus my foot pedal broke So I have a broken cheap POS that I want to replace and have been trying to find a good full flush bowl that’ll accept a 15” wide bidet seat. Any advice to shorten figuring out what to have rush shipped is sooo much appreciated-D

I did something similar to you as my better half would drive around with the tank not empty when attempting to fix the black tank sensor that was always starting at 1/4. When we drove without 10-15 gallons of sloshing debris, there wasn't an issue... Also, the impact drill your using is dangerous for over tightening those screws. I always use my torque adjustable DeWalt and set the adjustment to what I feel it calls for. Thank you for the nice detailed video and happy trails!!!

Excellent video! I guess you didn't have the issue that I currently have? When I unscrewed the bowl from the base, the nylon spreaders dropped the nylon nuts inside my bowl. I can hear them moving around and will try to fish them out. Otherwise, those long screws have nothing to screw into. If i get them removed, I'll definitely seal up like you did. Thank you for sharing this!

It almost sounds like you have a different series. Is it both a plastic top and bottom? It almost sounds like you have a ceramic bowl and a plastic base?
@ducsauce85
@ducsauce85 Ай бұрын
@@PilotCooking yes, ceramic bowl and plastic base. It is a 310 model per the sticker. 2016 Jayco 26BH. Did you think about making or having a replacement gasket made?
@PilotCooking
@PilotCooking Ай бұрын
@ducsauce85 I can't really answer to the design of the ceramic bowls. What I would look at is compared to the video that I put up with your lower half. If it looks like the upper and lower are about the same then I might be concerned. At least concerned enough to impregnate the gasket with R TV silicone like I did with ours.

Oh great! I just had my model 300 replaced for free by Dometic. I paid an upgrade fee of $75 to get the model 310. I hope that I do not end up with the issue spotlighted in this video. The issue I had with our model 300 was disgusting and frustrating!! **EDIT** Hey...wait a minute. That is the model 300, not the 310. The 310 has a 1-piece ceramic bowl.

Can you share a Dometic part number for the large oval gasket. I have NOT been able to find. Thanks.

Here is the problem. Even if you order the seal that joins the two halves together.... It is defective and still allows liquid to flow into the void between the two pieces. My suggestion is to take the toilet apart, With gloves of course, Clean the existing gasket and dry it thoroughly. Then using rubber silicone impregnate the gasket. Join the two have together and you shouldn't have any problems for years.

Thanks for the video. Unfortunately I'm stuck doing this disgusting repair too. And very similar feelings toward Dometic -- I expect if we all just returned our leaking products (without bleaching them first) we might see a little more action. In searching for a replacement, I'm not finding much selection for RV toilets that don't also come with their own faulty designs and issues. They just don't make stuff like they used to!! Should have probably repaired the old one.

Can’t you buy a replacement seal for the 300 model?
@PilotCooking
@PilotCooking 3 ай бұрын
I looked and found a $70 replacement at some point. My issue is the leaking still happens with the new gasket as it is a design issue. Using sealant is the best bet.

i just replaced a dometic 310 cause the pedal broke. I called them and they told me it's a sealed system and that i wasn't able to put a new pedal on. That's a lie. I watched a KZfaq video and you can do it and it's not a sealed system. They would rather you buy a 300 new toilet then to sell you a 20 dollar part. SCAM company.

Had 3 units installed last year with First Alert P1210 with mfg date Oct 2022... ond 1 started failing with battery chirps 6 months later in April, and another failed little over year later with constant false alarms. Prior First Alert units I had lasted well over 10 years, but newer ones for me have 66% product failure rate so far... May call their support to try and get replacements, but can I really trust my family's safety to a company that seems to in recent years be producing much lower quality??

Just get the 310 porcelain. I had the plastic 300 and got rid of it before I started having problems. I had the 310 in my Coleman before I traded for a bigger camper. And saw this in my new camper. Actually it's a 2021 wildwood and immediately changed it. You can interchange the valve system so I kept the plastic one for parts.
