Gorgeous. Thanks for the tips about the acetone, and the methods. I guess these are common sense, but I hardly ever think of those things. HA HA Thank you - it is lovely <3

What kind of double sided tape do you use?
@thatartlife3 ай бұрын
It's just normal thin double sided tape, not the foam type. You can get it from most craft stores. You can have a look at my follow up video in the description where I answered some questions

Squeeee I am SO excited to see the next steps. Those are just gorgeous. I love how the printed and cut shapes came out - they are so professional. Same with the Cricut pen ones. The whole world of possibilities just opened up for keyrings, journal tags, and and and. I cannot wait to order mine, and after seeing this and hearing your advice, I am going to get the white ones as well as the clear ones. Thank you for doing all the hard work for us and figuring out the settings. :) Looking forward to the next steps <3

What a lovely introduction to Diamond Dot Painting. I was hesitant at first because I have heard mixed reviews, but went ahead and bought from Craft Buddies - I got the Starry Night. A large picture with SEVERAL colours. HA HA HA HA As a beginner, it looks much bigger than I thought, but with these tips I feel armed to start. I have done perhaps 2 cm square so far and have already used like 5 different colours. But it is going to be beautiful. I found your tips useful and I am going to go check out the pens and tips and think about them. My pack contained the white tray which I found easier than the green one because as you say it has the larger spout for pouring back into the baggies. I think I am going to need one of those pens too. ...runs off to go check colour availability... I eagerly await your video where you show us how to finish them off - I plan to display mine as a sort of "painting" in my craft room. I won't finish before your video (I am certain) but in the event that I do, I will wait to see how to remove the legends and tidy up.

I can't wait to see your progress!! My biggest one I have is the 50x100cm VW bus one that I have had for close to 3 years and have been too daunted to start with LOL! I definitely recommend the Acrylic pens they are so much easier to work with, my hands get sore using the small pen so I find I'm not able to work as much as I'd like to, I also find my precision has improved with Acrylic pens

Thank you Lolly for your real life videos, knowing other people make mistakes and how to recover makes trying new things so much easier.

YAAAY! More gorgeous things to make <3 I like the subdued look, but it is definitely not as bright as if it was on white. I really love the bling - there is always room and/or time for bling. Oh wow, what a spread. I loved the window boxes, I have a stork tea coming up and will definitely be buying the window boxes from Craft Buddies. We are having a TMNT theme and I can't wait to start. I don't have a small business, I just do gifting and personalizing gifts for friends and family. Then I am making keyrings as thank you gifts for all the guests and the UV resin tips are going to help so much.
@thatartlife6 ай бұрын
That's so exciting!! You could use the print and cut feature to make some TMNT cutouts, stick some "broken bricks" onto the sides of the window section and have the TMNT Cutouts standing inside so it looks like a little scene inside each of the boxes. Can't wait to see what you do! Please share it on the CB group so we can see x

I love love love your videos. Not only do you give many hints and tips, but you also have lovely ideas that inspire me. I absolutely loved the bobo balloons - I have not seen one and didn't know how to use them. I also really loved the cone mug design - as you say, it is not too much. Just beautifully elegant. I am super jelly at the vinyl - what gorgeous colours and textures. There are just soooo many things on my wish list. I can say that the opal is beyond gorgeous, and the textured gold is stunning. The resin was a super touch as well. I love that you showed us sort of next level techniques by layering. It is always so helpful to see how these things are done. The only thing I was surprised not to see was the crimp on your gorgeous chocolate wrapper. I aim to get a crimper to give that final touch to the edges of the wrapper. I think I saw you do that before and it was stunning. <3 While trying to start my small business, it is always difficult to know what to stock, but that gift box is really something special. Thank you for all the lovely ideas, and for always being so enthusiastic in your sharing. I will have to make something this weekend to share on the Craft Buddies Facebook page. 🌻
@thatartlife6 ай бұрын
Thank you so much for always being so super supportive! I appreciate you so much! To replace the crimper I actually score the bottom edges but because I didn't adjust my design it cut my bottom pieces off so I couldn't fold them and create the crimped look. It's a nice alternative for those who can't yet afford the crimper. This was of course my first time working with the bobo balloons and it is SO much harder when you don't know what you're doing 🤣 I have a few things I'd like to try with them so watch this space! x

@thatartlife6 ай бұрын
Hi 😁 These are A4 Sheets, I have worked with bigger sheets. According to the Craft Buddies Website the Thickness is 0.8-0.9mm - If you are going to be cutting something that is more of a genuine leather thickness i'd suggest the knife blade or deep point blade. You can have a look on www.craftbuddies.co.za I have worked well with all of their Faux Leathers I have tried

What setting do you use in cricut paper for materials? I printed on glossy photo paper: perfect. But, I selected glossy photo paper under materials, left as default, and used a scoring tool. It ripped/ tore the paper. Any suggestions?
@thatartlife7 ай бұрын
Hi 🙂 I use the copy paper setting - try it with a scrap of paper first there are 3 settings - the 120gsm works for me, if it doesn't cut through then before I unload I run it again but what you will do is remove your scoring tool before you run it again so it scores once but cuts twice.. I'd also suggest leaving your paper to completely dry before cutting as it will almost always tear if damp x

So beautiful. Where did you get the flat pearls? Do you think I could use a normal heat press to press?
@thatartlife8 ай бұрын
Thank you so much 🥰 I'm always on the lookout for pearls for my resin work - I found these flat ones at a local craft store. You should be able to use any heat press as long as you can reach the 200 degrees required temperature. it's also best to use one that completely covers your canvas to avoid gaps in the design. Remember to put something underneath to support it - don't be like me! 😅
@lisacromhout66938 ай бұрын
The flat pearls are gorgeous, I should go have a look at my local craft shop. I've bought resin and accessories but for some reason too wary to start using it :(. I've got a big 38*38cm heat press so will definitely cover the surface :) I'll learn from your mistakes

Is the cutting mat supposed to be sticky enough to keep the book wrap down then peel back to attach faux? Mine is chewing up the faux leather when it finds a spot that isn’t completely stuck and my mat is new but isn’t sticky
@thatartlife8 ай бұрын
Yes, a new mat is preferable so that it holds the book wrap down. The book wrap is more to protect your mat from the faux leather. If you only have an old mat then use double sided tape, the thin craft one not the foam one. I layer about 3 to 4 strips under My faux leather
