My only complaint with this episode is that Uhura did not sing "There are Klingons on our starboard bow" at least ONCE. They had the perfect template for it.

They were trying to test getting signals through a subspace anomaly. Normal messages and comms didn't work, so Uhura suggested they try music. It worked, then caused this.

I don't hate musicals, but I'm not a huge fan either, and I never thought a star trek episode would have a musical in it. This was amazingly done, I have seriously watched this over 100 times. I have also recorded myself singing this entire song with it running in the background, it's so catchy I love it. This has to win awards, so many people are in love with it, make this go Viral please
@leoberg118Ай бұрын
Buffy, Scrubs, Star Trek, fuck it. From now on, all shows running for 3 seasons or longer must have a musical episode AND an in-universe justification for it.

I find that Rebecca Romain has a great talent for musical theater. All the cast did actually. Such a well made episode.

I’m a huge fan of musicals! I admit, I was a bit unsure how Star Trek would pull this kind of thing off, despite all the goofy things it’s done over the years. But as soon as the first song happened, I was hooked! This episode was amazing!

Entertaining. Though it has the "walking in and knowing the subject" film crime going on which is unfortunate. "Where is that music coming from?" "Not from anywhere on the ship?" (1:05) Soooo the person who just arrived via turbolift somehow has an omniscient grasp of the state of the entire ship and can assess, with certainty, that the oddness is not coming from anywhere on the ship? I pray someday our media production companies can let this terrible trope die on the ash heap of history where it deserves eternal scorn and derision for the awfulness it was. Out out, damn spot. But yes, a catchy song.

I think this is my favorite underutilized trope, the musical curse/infection. Where a strange force causes all characters affected to sing everything they say. It’s so rarely used but it’s always fun when it is
