Bought a new MK 1 in silver 3 litre in 1972.If you floored it in the wet it didn't move.Had to sell it when I met my wife. Too dangerous for her but I wish I still had it.

I had one of these myself back in1983, K reg. I sprayed it a dark burgundy with a crimson crushed red interior, flared arches, large wheel and huge spot lights on the front..!! Have always wondered how much they would be worth in todays money.? This is a very nice example. Beautiful car.

Yes at that time Ford were using the higher spec of the popular 1500cc engine from the Cortina GT with the other basic car design features that other models had, to sell more cars..

Attention Schlaboubve!!!! Sadly soon all gas cars will be banned in EU and USA! In France they have a new banning law for ICE cars called SCHLABOUBVE and in Switzerland the HESCHLAVVO law! In Scandinavian countries soon there will be a so called SMORVERBIDEN law. In Germany from 2027 the new BABVVO and TEBBVO laws by the green peoples party will bann all gas cars from public streets only exception will be professional commuter trips and state-certified transports)!!!
