Was this really just acting, or was it all real, and they decided to put it to music? (unless the music was playing at the restaurant they were at, and they decided to record it, and turn it into a song)

Any one here because of Jacob RM mentioning it?

I had this record, once asked a colleague if they had an Asp in the box they were holding. Not a clue... I still laughed

I wonder who the saxophonist was? They play with such control, the vibrato is just enough… Great stuff, love it.

Clever wordplay by songwriter Mitch Murray, engagingly delivered by comedy actor Lance.

The 45 of this song I own, the label is Eric Records 🤔 & the B Side is a song called “ photogenic, Schizophrenic you”
God, Norman sounds really young here, though he was in his late 20’s when he recorded this, and I was surprised to find out that he was a great singer. He’s so cute too!

My Mum bought this back in 1966 and I still have the single,I used to listen to it a lot as a child and loved it, also grew up watching Monty Python, so a big admirer of the work of John Cleese, and he is a great guy,, having worked with him and the pythons on the Film "The Meaning Of Life back in 1983, as one of the Cast of professional Actors in the film, loved finding this on here, thanks for putting it on

Alvin & The Chipmunks - All My Loving [Dave Seville]: All right, Chipmunks Got your hair on straight? [The Chipmunks]: Yeah, yeah! Yeah, yeah! [Dave Sevelle]: Sing it up, boys This is gonna be great A one, a two, a one two Close your eyes and I'll kiss you Tomorrow I'll miss you Remember I'll always be true And then while I'm away I'll write home every day And I'll send all my loving to you I'll pretend that I'm kissing The lips I am missing And hope that my dreams will come true And then while I'm away I'll write home every day And I'll send all my loving to you

Written by Cyril Stapleton. I'm not sure how he got his composition recorded on this Terry Scott B-side, but he WAS Head of A&R at Pye Records in 1966...

Wonder if this was the inspiration for Telly Savalis’ brilliant films introducing British cities (Birming-ham being a notable one) from the 1970s?

I wonder what the sorely missed Dennis Waterman and George Cole thought when they each first heard this UK novelty hit by 'The Firm'? I bet they both had a right good laugh about it in the old 'rubadub'. 😁
